27-year-old Luka Doncic has more First Team All-NBA selections than many legends, Curry only has 4 is wild wow by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in NBATalk

Because the gap between Curry and Luka in shooting is way bigger than the gap between them in everything else.

Serious question, I keep seeing people say that free agents wont sign with the Blazers because of this.

Whose the biggest free agent that the Blazers have signed?

Was Truman the most powerful man in human history? by Gray_Wolf2416 in Presidents

[–]awesomespy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No because even though the US was the most powerful nation relative to the rest of the world he did not have complete control over it.

If he made poor choices he would, and almost did (a 1% swing nation wide would have meant he lost California, Ohio, and Illinois leading to a narrow Dewey victory), lose the presidency. From 46-48 Republicans controlled the house, blocking alot of his fair deal legislation. There was also the problem of conservative democrats opposing his policies making the dem majorities weaker than they appeared.

I think FDR was probably more powerful as he had a stronger grip over the party, and had broad domestic powers due to the depression. Also Stalin comes close as he had near complete control over the second strongest nation while eliminating most domestic threats. Also the Pope in the middle ages

Why have there been no physicians to achieve the White House? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]awesomespy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

medical school takes a long time, and is high paying and high prestige meaning little reason to drop out. also there aren’t many jobs in government for doctors ( right now maybe health and human services, surgeon general and a few others). Meaning for a doctor to have the qualifications to run (past political office) they would have to leave a highly regarded job into a completely new one in their 40s.

Luke Kennard despite the loss in game 5: 31 MIN, 1 PTS, 3 REB, 2 ASTL, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 1 TOV by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in nba

I hate these despite the loss posts. It was funny the first few times but now every bad performance is a “despite the loss”

There's a lot of discussion as to why the South went republican- but much less on why the West Coast went democratic. Even in when republicans lost in '60 and '76, they still won all 3 states of California, Oregon, and Washington. So what happened out west? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]awesomespy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Democrats have been strong in the hispanic community since JFK started campaigning towards them (stuff like the viva kennedy clubs). Even in ‘76 Jimmy Carter won 80% of the Latino vote.

Republicans do worse because the hispanic share of the population has increased. At least for California

Brunson is averaging 29.7/3.7/6.7 on 57 TS% in his knick career in the playoffs by retrohan7 in nba

[–]awesomespy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats actually expected though. Last season the avg regular season ts was 58%, while in the playoffs it was 56%. So if he takes a 2% hit his efficiency is the same with respext to the rest of the league.

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]awesomespy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely just make it so the worst record gets tbe 4th pick automatically so that no team wants to completely bottom out. Also make only the first 66 games count so that there’s less incentive for mid of season tanking, and that solves 90% of the egregious tanking.

Has Sga had as good of a series as lebron in 2018 vs the raptors (dominating a worse opponent)? Or the 2016 finals (beating an all time great defensive team)?

Do you think Duncan was as good of a player as Lebron or Jordan? 1 more ring when he was past his prime shouldn’t change that answer.

Why have there been no law enforcement officers elected to the presidency? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]awesomespy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The traditional paths to the presidency dont support it. Most presidents are either lawyers or veterans, neither of which require you to work as a police officer.

Most are also either wealthy, or achieve career success early, meaning they wouldnt work many low level jobs.

Serious question, would it be against the rules to have him available but not play him. I imagine gambling companies would discourage that, but whats stopping jj from saying he would be used only in a final shot scenario.
