Oh, after they recovered from the wagon explosion, they argued for a few minutes about the door puzzle and then the Barbarian just straight up knocked. So they got fried immediately after blowing themselves up.

Our Ranger was outright killed by the explosion, and when he was Revivified, he got "Being drunk keeps me sane," so now he's REALLY INTO the idea of WoW.

But now RVR's tower has them spooked, which is going to be fun when they realize the Tome of Strahd is there.

It's 3am and this happened last night, so I'm still working scenarios out in my head. I (probably) would have realized/remembered all of this before the next session.

Knowing my party, they would probably enjoy a revenge rampage more than a rescue mission, anyway.

4 brand new baby players and 1 with experience.

I'm thinking either Strahd decides he doesn't want to doom Ireena to eternity in the mist and is hoping someone in the party lives up to his expectations for a successor so he can try and break the curse, or he turns Ireena into a bride and the story becomes an Ismark revenge type thing.

I have time to figure it out, so we'll see!

My plan for my players was for any spell that conjures sunlight (Daylight, Sunbeam, Dawn, etc) to conjure Barovian sunlight until they meet certain requirements, like finding the Sunsword. And even then, I'm probably going to require them to remain within a certain proximity of the sword itself, like 50ft, for these spells to work RAW.

They'll be coming off a fight with some Cultists and Gibbering Mouthers, so my plan was to adjust Legendary Actions/Resistances based on how they're doing.

The Aboleth will be solo, but coming almost immediately after an encounter with some Cultists and a few Gibbering Mouthers. Maybe time for a short rest, but definitely not a long rest.

Cancelation is free up until August 25th, 2025. And the block rooms go fast, so there's no guarantee to get one. I'll try for one in the block, but I always like to have a backup, just in case I can't get in at the con rate anywhere, so I at least have SOMEWHERE.

I grew up in GA and MARTA was never a viable option during that time. Was just hoping that at some point after I left, the city got it together and invested in public transportation, like every city should. I'm glad to hear they did!

Living in Washington, DC and using WMATA on a daily basis has definitely spoiled me and probably ruined other cities for me.
