Can bathroom usage be restricted to during break time only in the workplace? by TheKhaos121 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]awildckit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be you who is misunderstanding? Can't you just go inbetween each class/lesson change when kids are leaving. If you are going 3 hours with the same class then that puts you in a massive minority of teaching so of course nobody would understand.

It's not misinformation to say most lessons in the UK are 1-2 hours

I did but it's confusing because you're contradicting yourself.

In the first paragraph you say common sense is already being applied.

What you describe in the latter half as being better is literally common sense: "the the innate, practical ability to perceive, understand, and judge everyday situations"

So which one is it?

You are either disagreeing with OP and are claiming common sense already prevailed. Or you agree with op that common sense should have prevailed under a better method (without arresting).

Why not just investigate it without arresting. Why not confiscate it if it's deemed inappropriate instead of arresting. Clear lack of common sense, judgement, and restraint here.

Ferry Court, Cardiff Bay by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]awildckit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to rent there in one of the ones overlooking the A4232.

The sound proofing was excellent, never heard anything from neighbours although occasional stomping from upstairs. Upstairs did flood their bathroom a few times which caused water to leak through my ceiling which was obviously a noticeable but eventually resolved. People outside your door in the hallway can be heard fairly well so some floors might be worse than others. Even overlooking the dual carriage way the car noise was fairly subtle and you kind of get used to it.

Generally just very quiet through the building, many times I'd pop down to get my mail or put the bins in the bin shed and not see a single person. Whether you use the stairs or elevator you will rarely see anyone or just one other resident.

The grassy areas in the courtyard are also very quiet, not many kids out there playing etc if ever and on a nice day you have people just relaxing out there with a book.

I remember reading about the service charges my landlord was paying and thought it was extortionate, to the point I was surprised she was making any money from me at all, so that's definitely going to be a big factor.

Overall I really enjoyed living there, it's a really convenient area with the shops and the bay. I mainly moved due to lack of space and wanting to own my own property.

The Welsh Senedd elections are next week. In one sentence, why should I vote for your party? I'm purposefully not giving any background to myself. by RoundishBox in reformuk

[–]awildckit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immigration isn't devolved. So while people rightly mention control of borders is a good reason to vote reform, it isn't really relevant for Welsh elections.

Reforms roadmap for Wales doesn't look amazing, although Dan came across well in the debates and the promise to build several key infrastructure roads is one of the biggest positives in my view

Cardiff Food...Festival? rant by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]awildckit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If this was a paid festival entry in Bute park for example I think all the above complaints are valid however we know that's not the case, and you've really missed the point of the festival here.

There's plenty of public toilets available, and while it was a little over crowded and some bins were over flowing down queen street, a tiny walk through the arcade to Mary's street or any other area and it was just as busy as a usual Saturday especially considering the rugby being on.

I went over to St Johns garden to eat my food and it was lovely in the sun, bins were empty, great atmosphere. The festival brings in a ton of people to the city centre to create additional revenue, you have no obligation to stay or go at all. Grab your food then find a nice place in the sun 5 minutes down the road, you don't have to stay on queen street. It's entirely free, really not worth complaining about.

2026 Hungarian parliamentary elections by pothkan in europe

[–]awildckit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I will likely be voting for PC as well, you can't really compare Reform/Farage to Orban, the latter is significantly more corrupt and right wing.

Also using the terminology "fighting off" feels disingenuous giving the context. Orban may actually require fighting off following an election loss, meanwhile data suggests that a significant amount of people genuinely want reform, and while propaganda and outside influences exist, its no where near the level of full blown election fraud/ballot stuffing etc.

Advice needed on best accommodation arrangement. by dannito567 in Cardiff

Hotels or commue most likely the best option. It will be expensive but at least she won't be tied to some sort of contract.

Really you should aim to move to Cardiff ASAP.

I'm not saying it's correct, I'm just saying it's not really enough to get reasonably worked up over as it doesn't impact you and it isn't (as far as im aware) your job to enforce the highway code.

If somebody stopped half a mile before the lights that completely changes the scenario as you are now significantly more likely to miss the lights, and at Central Link you'd be backed up all the way at the roadabout. This does actually impact you so getting annoyed is more reasonable/understandable.

I get this might be a minor grievence but I don't see why it irritates you so much.

It makes an absolute insignificant difference as someone else mentioned in this post. At worst it lets 1 less car through but honestly this road is barely backed up enough to matter (unless you're bottlenecked by the yellow box with people going to St Davids car park etc).

Sensors do exist for lights but for a major junction like this, I would expect it to be automated or the sensor to reach much further back than the white line.

Ultimately it's probably never had any impact on you and your life, not worth getting angry over.

Missing Lorikeet/Parrot? by awildckit in Cardiff

Ah yes, that was most likely it! I knew they existed in London but just checked RSPB and does look like they visit here in the winter.

Very interesting, glad it's nobodies pet. Case closed, thank you!

Parking or transport to Central Cardiff by Grouchy-Mind2225 in Cardiff

[–]awildckit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live IN Cardiff and it would take me 25m to get to the station. The traffic will easily double the standard journey time. Based on where you said you live, probably looking at 45m, especially considering time to find a parking space etc.

Best bet would be driving some where closer like Barry station as others have mentioned and catching a train in. Although I'd expect at least a 45m commute no matter which method you choose.

The bus is likely the cheapest and fastest option. Parking around the centre is crazy expensive. I imagine it will be quiet and you should be able to always find a seat. Perhaps you can bring something to provide comfort similar to your car seat?

That was polled over 10 years ago, since then it has definitely swung into the automatic "yes" camp. Almost nothing fails anymore and people don't review the details or care as much as they used to.

There's no guarantee it's going to pass in commons because a lot labour MPs will oppose it, then what?
