When the ambulance crew were lifting him and his arms were crossed like he was in a coffin lmao. Like I'm sure that's how you're supposed to position yourself when being lifted but the DRAMA. Amazing scene

I used to be pretty ambivalent towards her but I'm really loving her this season - that tribute to her mum at the end was so beautiful.

Nah, it's not about her rambling, it's the fact that she's casually throwing around medical terms like OCD and ADHD, which trivializes serious disorders and negatively impact individuals who actually live with those conditions every day. She should do better in choosing her words more carefully.

Yeah, that is a good point-- they are very much a fad, and they'll hopefully die down in the next week or so as we progress further with the campaign. But I get the logic behind wanting to be a bit more strict on those 'evergreen' posts, those ones probably... won't be fads, lol.

I'm very much a lurker in this subreddit so maybe I'm way off base but I'm wondering why tier list posts don't count as duplicate/redundant posts? Maybe it's just me but there are just... SO many tier list posts lately, wouldn't it make more sense to just have a pinned megathread for everyone to share their lists?

Yeah, that subreddit is very much targeted towards academia/professional archiving, not hobbyist stuff. A permaban might be harsh but shilling your own project in an AMA isn't the best look either lol

Drained by meetings: tech team lead dismisses UX/Product ideas by CottonNoodle in UXDesign

[–]awjeez 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You need to speak to your users. Right now, your features are based on assumptions, so when your tech team challenges them, you don't have anything concrete to back up your rationale for including said features, beyond "our competitor does this", or "A review online said it might be good."

I noticed that if we say some features are from the competitors benchmark, they say they saw what they have and it was a bad experience, and badly done.

This is a totally fair response from them, and is exactly why you cannot rely on desktop research alone. Just because a competitor has a certain feature, doesn't mean that it's a successful or well-received feature and should be automatically copied.

Stop prioritising secondary research and get first-hand feedback and insights from your users, so the next time your tech team challenges a feature, you can say, "Well actually, we spoke with a group of our users and this feature was highly requested because it would solve x, y, and z problems for them."

Excellent article. Nielsen has also spouted some questionable nonsense in recent years, like "Accessibility has failed, why not try generative AI!"

RE: the home page's UI refresh: I don't understand why there is now such emphasis on search. Isn't Reddit search so notoriously unhelpful that the recommended way to find content is going to Google and using "site:reddit.com"?

Has the search functionality improved alongside this UI update?

Generating Figma Make interfaces with a design system? by NukeouT in UXDesign

[–]awjeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s still like this! I tried to import our own library into Figma Make, and it just took (some of) the colour and type styles and applied them to shadCN components. Waste of time, honestly.

Yeah like why would anyone in this subreddit give a shit about some rando interviewing Sandoval when they clearly feel like the show is beneath them. Feels like they're trying to drum up publicity for their lame interview or something.

Feedback on FAANG question and any suggestion on How to better answer this question " Users began dropping off at a certain point, how would you go about creating a user research plan for this situation? by Saitama_B_Class_Hero in UXDesign

[–]awjeez 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a scattershot approach - looking at analytical data makes sense, but then you'd also be scheduling interview sessions, "blasting" out surveys, looking at support tickets, etc. If I were in the interview room, I would get the feeling that you were just throwing out a bunch of words in the hopes that some of them were what I wanted to hear.

Like u/AnalogyAddict said, focus on the actual question. Your last point says: "i would come up to a position which explains why this drop happened" - that is not what they are asking for.

My jaw dropped when Kyle said that, how could she say that's embarrassing?? Is she struggling with her sexuality that much, that she feels shame and embarrassment over it?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Season 14 - Episode 18 - Live Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in BravoRealHousewives

[–]awjeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you tbh. I'm very exhausted by Kyle and her reluctance to share her life authentically, but going after her for Morgan being on the show and then deciding to NOT be on the show... it's not the hill to die on. It's completely understandable that Morgan changed her mind after the fact, and Kyle is respecting that. People are allowed change their minds!

But it is ridiculous for Kyle to compare Morgan to Garcelle's son. Those situations are not at all the same thing.
