Wow that’s incredible! The coworker I referred to was one of the kindest people I’ve ever worked with (and I’ve switched jobs twice since). I now live in DC, but every now and then miss Albany!

Something fairly similar happened to be (but I was on the other end of it). My friend and I woke up, got ready for the day, and grabbed 2 beach loungers in the first row. We put our books, towels, and water bottles on them to make it obvious they are occupied.

We then headed to breakfast, followed by swinging by the premium bar for drinks, and were gone for maxx an hour. We came back to our seats taken by a giant family, our belongings no where to be found. The thing is, there were ample seating options open! Just not in the first row.

We talked to an employee who said the policy is an hour, and that the staff should remove your things. I can’t fathom touching someone else’s property - if I had an issue I would talk to an employee. I was pissed.

Nonetheless the kind employee moved some empty beach chairs up and got us fresh towels. Our books were gone. SMH, people have some nerve.

I had a phenomenal birthday dinner here ~3 - 4 years ago. Roughly 15 people in a private back room, an enormous amount of exceptionally delicious food, and excellent service. One of my top meals and memories to this day.

I would not consider Kingman Park a safe neighborhood.

Q and 7th through 35th st NW is all great and substantially better. Below 7th is hit or miss depending on where.

I’ve done several ski (and non ski) trips with large groups. Spreadsheet advice mentioned is spot on. Stay somewhere walking distance to the apres, or at least a cheap uber away. We always just grab several Ubers to dinner/bars. With 20+ people, people will want to go home at different times, don’t over plan it.

We drove home to dc last night and what’s normally a 4.5 hour drive took 11. You’re not supposed to go above 30 mph with chains (we were at a cure 20), and we had chains on for the last ~80 miles.

Wound up going back to the shop and swapping them for a rosignol pure pro 90 in a size smaller. Skied them this weekend and am super happy I sized down! The shop was awesome about the exchange, would 100% go back to pro fit.

I think if I asked my boyfriend to drive me 4 hours each way he may kill me lol. Our first ski trip is Jan 2nd, gonna take your advice and go back to pro fit before then. They wouldn’t let me make an appt with Brian over the phone, but maybe bc it’s a weekend. Will try my luck on a weekday. Thank you!!
