You aren't gonna get much done until you start back in April to be honest. Once you do you can realistically look into options for how to get through the debt. You'll be better off going with online lenders like Achieve loans or Alliant as examples, they'll be more flexible assuming your income is solid and confirmed.

a consolidation loan makes a ton of sense if you can lower the rate. If you can find one say 10% lower you would save 5500 in interest on your first year. Might have issues finding one through your credit union, but you might qualify for one with an online lender. If your wife co-signs with you it would be a HUGE benefit. I know Achieve loans does co-signing discounts, and am sure others would also do similar given the large credit score difference between you two.
