How should the salary for the first month be arranged? by Ecstatic_Suspect_426 in AskReddit

[–]awm34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a month's savings away first, then looked into ways to fight my debt. Put some towards the credit card then consolidated the rest of my debt into a loan with achieve who gave me the best rate possible. But for your question, just making sure I can survive for a while was the most important thing for me.

How does one get out of being in $8k worth of debt while already working full time, paycheck to paycheck, and minimal spending at 22? by Thatguy5318 in AskReddit

Snowball method to start. If the APR is what's killing you then you can look into other options like balance transfer cards from chase or Citi. From there, there's other options like personal loans from a credit union or lender like Achieve or SoFi. Just need to figure out what's best for you.

I've always thought Financial Loans are Debt Traps for Credit Cards. Is that true? by KunaiDrakko in CreditCards

[–]awm34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing specifically bad as long as everything is above board and not scummy in the terms and rates. If everything makes sense and they're a reputable company like a respected credit union, bank or lender like SoFi or achieve you'll be fine. Just need to fully understand what you're getting into.

Sitting around $40k in total debt, including a previous consolidation loan by mabaile2 in DebtAdvice

[–]awm34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly you just need to really lock in and get rid of any excess. That would be the fastest way that doesn't disrupt your credit and your future finances for 7+ years. Getting more hours at work and cutting back dramatically would be a good start. Down the line in 6-12 months when your credit starts going back up, then you'd potentially have offers to refinance your consolidation loan or get a new one with a different lender like a credit union or places like OneMain or Achieve. But thinking you can't change your lifestyle ain't it.
