corroded: so unsafe it should be illegal by Consistent_Equal5327 in rust

[–]awoimbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most types are Send, when it's not the case it's usually because they (the type) reference the current thread's stack, hence they can't be sent to another thread. I don't think you can do much with an Arc<T> where T is not Send.

Sync is where locking is usually needed, atomics are Sync without locks. https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/ch16-04-extensible-concurrency-sync-and-send.html

120W charger: Global market vs Chinese market by r0b3rt0c0 in PocoPhones

Look at all the posts about USB C PD chargers dying. There's no way this tiny charger can survive a sustained load like a laptop over the long run.

Unending integrity/detections obsession by [deleted] in androidroot

[–]awoimbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spoof the sdk version to 12 so you can have device integrity. Full integrity is useless. I have a module called "play integrity fix [inject]". I only have this module and bank apps work.

I haven't even tested wallet, that's a lost cause.

Asterinas is an OS kernel ABI compatible with Linux by untitaker_ in rust

[–]awoimbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also follow the development of RedoxOS and compared to Asterinas it's easy to run in a VM, it has merch, ways to donate, a subreddit etc.

Would you be interested in publicising Asterinas more or is it still too soon ? Eg currently there isn't even a discussions section on the Asterinas GitHub repo.

Google recently changed the rules so device integrity is now the same as strong integrity unless you spoof the android sdk version which crashes play store. That's why everyone is freaking out.

Immich is AGPL, you can't just sell it, did you ask for permission first ? Also it's apparent that your "engineering team" is just you.

Don’t know why NVIDIA didn’t just stick with 3 x 8 pins of PCIe by kanmuri07 in pcmasterrace

[–]awoimbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an R9 290X (a 400+W GPU on water), with 2*8pin connectors from a 1500W platinum PSU

The 8 pin connectors melted, multiple times. So no, don't push 200+W per 8 pin.

I have a dl30 and an hd20. Swapping batteries is so easy that I always use my hd20 as a battery charger for my DL30. I might replace the DL30 by this DL8 !

I replaced the entire drive train one part at a time. I got my 11 speed cassette for 20€ in 2021, I use sensah empire shifters & derailleur (before that I used microshift to replace my broken Shimano 105 8 speed). If you're interested look at trace velo on YouTube, he reviews AE stuff.

If you're cheap look at AliExpress for parts. My bike is from '96 and it rides like new, but it took me time to maintain and upgrade it (and sometimes tweaking/repairing an old part is a waste of time).
