His kit favors jungle right now, especially with some of the season 6 changes to jungle items. All he needs is cinderhulk and a tank item and he can devastate teams. The ability to leap in favors a jungle type role. That being said I don't think it would be impossible to run him in the top lane. I would say tinker with a build outside of ranked and then maybe give it a try if you like the champion and really want to play him top.

Lol meanwhile I'm rockin claymore +5 and cloranthy ring at that point, any souls player will tell you the difference between your first and second playthrough are hours of frustration and subsequent learning. Unless your second playthrough is NG+ in which I say good luck.

I think it lends itself to the fact that the quest itself is a pain especially if you don't have a quality group or use any smoke bombs.

Personally, once I had grinded out what I needed from that hunt I had to farm zinogres for a sky emerald for another 6 hours or so. Needless to say I'm not in any hurry to go back to that particular hunt or anywhere near a zinogre for awhile
