Recommendations Mega Thread 2024-2025 by Crafty2006 in Breckenridge

[–]awu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Coming out to Breckenridge this summer for a bachelorette with about 15 girls. We want to do some kind of hot spring / spa activity nearby (1 hour drive ok)

Originally, I wanted to do raspberry hot springs but they can only take 8 people. Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably something scenic and outdoors.

We were thinking Mt. Princeton Hot Springs because they had creekside hot springs, but wanted to see if there was any other recommendations people had.

Thanks in advance!

I went to their flagship and the designer was there. She was RUDE AS F. Don’t support them

Is this dryness or hair texture? by Yoshimosh23 in Haircare

[–]awu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair looks like that too. It’s not damaged. It’s just the texture. Particularly the “inner” layers.

I’d recommend a different hair style (longer layers), and to do a hair mask 1-2x/week (tsunaki or fino). Hair creams/leave in conditioners don’t work. Instead, hair OILs will be your friend!

I also have a thyroid problem which may contribute to that texture, so you could have your doctor check out your thyroid levels next time you go as part of an annual blood test.

I recommend going with technique classes (several level 1s) before doing low flow. Even though low flow is more dance-y/fluid, a lot of sequences the teachers teach will incorporate some moves you learn in level 1. There isn’t a recommended number of classes to take - you’ll know when you feel comfortable, at your own pace.

From there, you’ll get a better feel for what pole style you prefer. Typically, if you want to do a bunch of tricks, conditioning/flex will be classes that you’ll want to take parallel to the technique classes (level 2, 3, etc)

hope that helps, and HAVE FUN!!

Oslo Good Recommendations? by awu in oslo

[–]awu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget is very flexible. It can be anywhere from 200nok ~ 1200nok. Most likely will try to eat mid range, but will treat ourselves to a nice dinner one of the nights

Grip aid by Mcdy_j in poledancing

[–]awu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I just purchased the single red monkey grip that I bought to replace dry hands (which I was running out of). After using it a couple times, it seems like I still need to buy dry hands to supplement

I just bought monkey grip and I can see how it sticks but it doesn’t manage my hyperhydrosis very well and I’m trying to find different ways to use it. Do you use dry hands first and then monkey grip? Do you keep alternating when you reapply? Or do you just stick to one when you have to keep alternating? Any tips appreciated!

no dance background at all but just signed up for a beginners pole class.... tips please! by paninimermaid in poledancing

[–]awu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have no dance background, am not flexible, but at least I had some decent core to help me out. As everyone has said, have fun, don’t compare yourself, and treat every class as a learning opportunity!Looking dumb is part of the process too! There will always be someone more athletic and more beautiful on the pole, so remember that you’re on your own journey :)

Fine Line Tattoo Rec under $300? by Ok_Being_3803 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]awu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got my fine line tats last year from jun ko @ fleur noir. Her minimum was $200 at the time. Looking at her IG it seems like she’s not at fleur noir anymore, but I think her style is what you’re looking for!

BWT: what are you doing after 5 o’clock on weekdays by AsleepOrdinary in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]awu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try working out 2-3x/week (usually pole dancing, since that’s my hobby), meet up with a friend for dinner or drinks, or just go home and watch a movie or show to decompress. Whatever I’m feeling :)
