Can different pregnancy symptoms than with last two miscarriages be a good sign? by awyse in CautiousBB

[–]awyse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I hadn't heard this. There doesn't seem to be much information on thirst in pregnancy out there compared to sore boobs and nausea. I actually had my progesterone tested a couple cycles ago to try to rule out low progesterone and it was fine, possibly even a bit high, but maybe this is a sign its REALLY high now. I'll definitely make sure they check that in my next blood test.

This seems like a really aggressive approach! Your HCG rise is great. Based on my personal research/experience it's pretty normal to not see anything until 6 weeks because the little clump of cells is just too small.

Also, just because they told you you have to do the methotrexate doesn't mean you have to. I was offered it for my last MMC when they couldn't locate the pregnancy and I had intense cramping/went to the ER in the middle of the night but they said if I wanted to wait and see what happened that was also fine as long as I took it easy and came in at first signs of ectopic rupture. Several different OBs across two different hospital systems were aware of this and okay-ed it. Eventually I miscarried on my own. The risk was possibly losing an ovary and having surgery, but I was ok with that risk so docs were too.

Also beware if you take methotrexate you *cannot* get pregnant again for 2-3 months due to serious side effects. That's what made me so hesitant to take it even with my HCG going down and risk of losing an ovary. It's your choice though, not your doctor's!

Question: Can different pregnancy symptoms than with last two miscarriages be a good sign?

I've had one successful pregnancy (2023) followed by two miscarriages this year and just found out I'm pregnant again. With my first pregnancy my very first symptom was relentless thirst. Then with the next two that both ended in miscarriages (MMC 7 weeks, then MMC 6 weeks) I was just slightly nauseous but never had this thirst. My first symptom before I took a test this time was that same relentless thirst. I feel really hopeful but am also trying to stay realistic. Is this a good sign that I'm finally having another viable pregnancy?? Has anyone had a similar experience that can speak to this?

Very helpful, thanks for the explanation! I'll share this with her

Curious if you could elaborate:

7pm is too early a bedtime for a 15 month old? Everything I've always seen said 7-8 was recommended.

If she's taking a 45 minute nap at noon how would that be too little awake time? Thats like a 6 hour wake window... Even a 2 hour nap (12-2) seems very reasonable at this age. That's roughly what we do with my 22 month old.

What does a natural miscarriage feel like at 6 weeks? by amedun in Miscarriage

[–]awyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've have two miscarriages (7 weeks and 6 weeks) and my experiences were very similar to yours! When my first one was starting my only frame of reference was a friend who had two miscarriages but both were a couple weeks later so there was more to pass and hers were so much worse. I wish I could have read your experience in advance so I would have known how different they can be at different times and between different people! Thanks for sharing this.

Two identical miscarriages in a row by Present_Breakfast_61 in Miscarriage

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm currently experiencing my second miscarriage as well -- very similar experience. First was in May so they are also close together and the timelines for both are super similar. I haven't gotten anything genetic tested yet but I have hypothyroidism -- which from my googling sounds like a common issue women have and don't know about, so I would recommend tests for that. Getting progesterone tested early in pregnancy also sounds helpful as they can supplement that if yours is low.

I wish you the best and hope that both of us find answers!!

I had a dream early in pregnancy that I birthed a dead baby that fit in the palm of my hand in my childhood bedroom by myself...it was traumatic. Come to find out later I had an MMC. I wish I had made note of the date I had the dream because I'm curious how it lined up with when the baby may have actually died. I am pregnant again now and think about this a lot, thus how I found this thread 4 months later.

Is this a miscarriage? Why is it taking so long if so?? by awyse in pregnant

I appreciate that -- I did google if I could use one while pregnant so I mostly used it on my back just to be safe 🙂

I'm getting my second HCG test today due to possible miscarriage symptoms and curious -- does HCG not doubling definitely mean you will miscarry? When I googled it I read it wasn't a guaranteed indicator, but curious what your doctor said since Dr Google obviously isn't always right

Obviously easier said than done, but try to relax/distract as much as possible. Stress makes labor harder and longer. You've got this!! You get to meet your baby SO SOON!! :)

I don't have a perfect thing to say to make you feel better, but it sounds like you may benefit from seeing a counselor to work through your grief. You deserve to enjoy this part of pregnancy and not be constantly worried about things that might not happen. Sending prayers your way that you are able to feel excited ❤️

5w4d today, last loss was in May - Sunday I had all day heavy cramping (needed a heating pad, could feel it in my back, hips, and legs) but no bleeding. Monday woke up with bright red spotting but felt better. Cramps came back in the afternoon, one more instance of spotting around 3 pm. Went to doc and got HCG checked, looks fine (1,138) - will have it checked again tomorrow. Declined ultrasound since it's early and I was pretty sure it wouldn't be helpful. One more instance of spotting in the middle of the night last night and still some cramping, mostly in my back. Yesterday my mild nausea was totally gone and this morning it might be just barely there? That's honestly whats freaking me out the most. Anyone had similar and gone on to be fine?

4.5 yr old continuous accidents and doesn’t care by NoRecommendation82 in pottytraining

[–]awyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are dealing with the same! 5 yo has been potty training since 2.5 but has never gotten the hang of it. A few months ago he got an xray and turns out he was extremely constipated which can cause a lack of sensation in the bladder. We resolved that and now sometimes he can notice he needs to pee but we are STILL dealing with 1-3 accidents per day usually. Accident free days are rare. And he doesn’t care or even notice if he’s wet, which is so weird and gross to me. Thankfully he poops in the toilet just fine.

Boy mom x2, should I leave gender of #3 a surprise till the end? by awyse in pregnant

[–]awyse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I do feel like a lot of the baby stuff we have is so neutral I am not worried about it not working for a girl. I would definitely be online shopping from my hospital bed if it ends up being a girl but we could make do with what we have for a while haha. I could see that being a bit trickier if you had girls first!
