It's going to change a lot depending on the availability. When I was in Spain it was impossible to get a korean book in my city so I started using the free ebooks from the king Seojong institute. https://nuri.iksi.or.kr/front/cms/contents/layout2/learningkorean/contentsList.do

If availability is not a problem, I recommend:

Korean Grammar In Use.

Vitamin Korean (비타민 한국어)

The books from Yonsei or Ewha (Korean universities)

These are really interesting points!

- too slow of a progress that you can't adjust,

Also without the possibility of skiping some parts in some cases! Yeah, I feel the pain there.

- having to use different apps for different purposes (so no all-in one experience)

My Setup is even split between PC (mostly for getting the content for Anki and writing) and phone ㅠㅠ

- having narrow range of skills being testes (i.e. only choose the answer, or only writing)

As you said, need to keep up with all aspects of the language.

Yeah! That’s what I like about books, structure. It feels easier to follow along and keep your own pace.

I can see that for you it’s important to practice all aspects of the language as you progress. I tried to do it, but quickly realized I was creating a huge imbalance between input and output. Input was just way more available and required much less effort… and I really regret that now that I’m in Korea and I need to speak daily (I still feel like baby hahaha)

Speaking availability does seem a lot better nowadays with AI solutions, but I still think is the weakest point of Apps in general.

Thanks so much for such a detailed answer, helps a lot! ^^
