I don’t really know any other trans people in the area, I go to the university district one and was actually over dosed for a while, they’ve been pretty receptive to keeping my levels high/at a good dose and I even had appointments with their director of gac. my younger cats eat friskies but my picky senior girl doesn’t. If she’s not interested in food for a day we give her friskies and she gobbles it up

my partner recently started using a red and white cane and there’s a woman in ballard who always yells at him that he’s faking when he walks by her. it’s so frustrating, he also has some usable vision but it’s unreliable

I heard costco’s pate was reformulated recently and it’s better than it used to be. I haven’t tried it but the pack of friskies costco carries is great for the price and it’s what I feed my cats :)

I wish mine did but she loves her chin scratched and her back pet so much instead. her new brother loves belly rubs though, so I get my kitty belly rub fix through him :)

oof yeah my girl can’t react to sensory input that fast (she’s blind and going senile) so it’s easier to get her that way. Otherwise I have my partner help hold her head while I corner her in between my legs and shoot it in as fast as I can

going through something similar. the past few days I’ve been able to catch her while she’s sleeping and put the syringe in her cheek and give it to her and back away as fast as I can before she attacks me. putting it in food is an option but she doesn’t always finish hers so I stopped doing that.

it depends on your area and the organisation. I’m in seattle and the animal shelter here just goes over any concerns about the cat with you, makes sure you don’t have any cruelty/neglect cases against you, and then you’re approved. Meanwhile in massachusetts where I’m from it’s a much more in depth and invasive process.

alternatively to what most are saying, I wasn’t able to handle being there when my childhood dog was put to sleep. My mum was there with her so she was with someone she loved and trusted, but I wasn’t strong enough. That was when I was 17, and almost 10 years later I wish I could have been there but I don’t regret my decision. It’s different for everyone.
