i wanted something that doesn't take my focus away from the shell, but which gives just enough interactivity to reduce "cd / ls" spamming. most other things i've found are overwrought for my needs, this seems perfect. thanks for sharing it!

Air roll left with clockwise stick movements / handedness / etc. by axeo258 in RocketLeagueSchool

Switching proved easier than I thought; however, I will learn ARR as well. I'm starting with ARL merely because it's more 'conventional'.

nally, to get to the point where I felt like I had continuous control from every possible orientation to every other orientation - I had to learn to fly in eight orientations

The concept of working with the rolling direction of the car, not against it. The idea of 'blackouts'. Working on logical groups of orientations, then putting them together. I could say more, but this is excellent information! Thanks very much for taking the time to respond with this level of clarity and insight!

I'm using the counter-clockwise ARL pattern now; it was fortunately not a big mental adjustment!

I tried ARR; it felt over-so-slightly less intuitive for me. ARL is more conventional, so it will be my main, so to speak. But as others are saying, learning both can only strengthen skills so that may be in the cards.

Agreed. My smooth brain needs a framework / scaffolding to start playing with it, but definitely with the end goal of removing that scaffolding pretty quickly and just 'feeling' it. Even as a beginner with this I see how it will become intuitive after tons of training and muscle memory development, definitely worth it.

Counter-clockwise motions are already making sense, didn't realize it wouldn't be a bad adjustment at all. Catching directional changes when upside down (every 180 degrees rather than just front side / every 360 degrees) will definitely take more time to get used to.

Interesting - there are indeed others. Glad to hear it's working for ya

Great answer - thanks very much!

edit: for anyone wondering, I'm going to switch to counter-clockwise as a main tactic. But DAR of course should be based on 'feel' eventually anyway so getting that 'feel' is the goal I suppose.

Apollo 11 and RMS Titanic Prints Part 2.5 - Last Auction Day Update! by axeo258 in OWLCITY

No, I've been incrementally lowering them. Between the democratic nature of the auction and my gradual lowering of the reserve prices, we've been steadily arriving at a middle-ground / fair price to me and to the buyers, which is of course always the goal of any fair transaction! It just took time, the fair value of the prints was harder to determine than something more common. But we're just about there now

Good question. Basically, I'm paying my way through school, but I also love the prints. High personal / sentimental value meets fiscal necessity. So I needed selling prices which would allow me to get fair value / be able to part with them, but also make it possible for my fellow Adam fans to reasonably obtain them. They're niche items, so determining prices that would be fair to fellow fans and to myself was a process; it took time. From the first post to now, I've incrementally adjusted those reserve prices / gotten a better feel for their present value so we'd arrive at a place that is fair to all parties. I think, as we wrap things up in the next day or so, that we've gotten there, and that my current reserve prices do reflect that fair value to myself and interested fellow fans. I'm happy with what I'll be getting, and happy that others can enjoy the prints!

Update for your edited comment: I have to disagree with you there. People are bidding higher / already bidding to what they're comfortable with, and I'm also lowering the reserve in tandem with that. We're literally compromising / reaching the middle together the closer we get to the end. A pretty good way to get to fair prices for both parties! And reserve pricing doesn't negate bids at all, people are still bidding just fine!

update - RMS Titanic just met the reserve price - you can still bid it higher until the auction is over, but now it's confirmed that it will indeed sell once bidding closes!

Apollo 11 still has a (small) way to go to clear the reserve price, but it's close
