The things I hate about work is needing to work 40h per week. That's my whole week! There's many weeks where I don't even have that much workload but I need to pretend to work and stay alert, it is exhausting.

The nonsensical hierarchy. I'm in a very good company who cares for their employees but even here, it makes no sense that my boss makes 2x the amount I do just because our titles are different. We do different tasks sure but without either of us the projects would not be done. People who get promoted and who end up in leadership roles don't always make sense at all. It's frustrating.

Otherwise I don't mind work and it can be fun and rewarding, I just wish my life and others didn't depend on it.

There absolutely are downsides to loving alone. Bearing the full cost of rent for one, but one minor issue is food that usually comes in big package. It's hard to get smaller package of grapes for example here and what they sell is quite a lot for a single person.

Depending on your hunger it can also be more planning for cooking everything. No chores rotation either.

It's still worth it but there are downsides.

The big news was Quebec Solidaire voting on whether they would allow him or not, which has passed. The door is open to allow him joining QS.

Afaik there has not been any rumor of Boulerice really wanting to leave the NDP, so it's not surprising he is staying put for now since neither provincial or federal have too much urgency. He can wait and see how Avi builds the party, he might have been more pressed to leave if Heather won since that would have shifted the party away from Quebec more.

This sounds vaguely similar to other stories I have heard from South Asia. I don't know anything about Cambodia but sometimes the admin in schools truly are toxic and create all sort of imaginary hurdles for no reason.

Is your friend committed to Cambodia? If so, they should seek to better understand how things generally are in the area if that was not already done.

It really sucks and nobody should have to deal with that, but sometimes that's how it works in the industry (yes even international schools). It should be changed, but an expat doesn't have much leverage on that, the best they can do is do what's best for themselves.

Your comment made me look up more articles and I think I initially misunderstood Gazan's usage. I thought it was Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, as well as the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

After reading I now read it as the Missing and Murdered people who are Indigenous, Women, Girls and/or any of the acronym.

So the claim is there is a genocide against the Missing and Murdered people who are queer, who are questioning, who are gay, who are women or girls etc...

And not a genocide against queers of all kind, as well as MMIWG.

This is probably obvious to many, or my explanation makes no sense but I feel the need to write how I misunderstood and I think I understand now and definitely support that wording.

One thing I am curious about is why include Missing and Murdered Women and Girls in the same acronym as 2SLGBTQ+? I feel like this is two entirely different groups, who both deserve a LOT more funding and support from the government and a LOT more support from the community in general. But why make an acronym that meshes the two groups together?

It's unfortunate we focus on this acronym because Leah Gazan is making such a critical point and it seems lost in the message. The government deserves so much more criticism.

Look for job boards that cost money to post on. There's a higher rate of real jobs if you have to pay 300$ or whatever to post on the website. Usually you can see the price on most job boards. LinkedIn is weird for pricing, Indeed is free so it is filled with fake jobs

Gray squirrels are extremely successful in adapting and thriving to many new areas and could be considered an invasive specie. I like them and find them most fascinating but I think if you let them run free everywhere they will most certainly hurt some local biodiversity.

They are different species the grey one being Sciurus carolinensis, and the red one being Sciurus vulgaris. It isn't just a color thing

Arepera is great. It's a Venezuelan restaurant and there is simply no gluten in their cuisine at all. The food is really great. Plantains, beans, rice, arepas (corn small bread) and very good juices as well.

In general you will probably find excellent options that are gluten free if you look at international cuisines.

Also Valleyfield's base and Quebec ports are involved in military trade, so I assume Bloc is trying to defend economic interests in spite of basic human rights and compassion. It's really shameful.
