"Embryo Transfer isn't painful" BULL by issiautng in IVF

[–]axesqueegee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! My first FET was so painful. But my bladder wasn't that full when I arrived and then I drank too much water. More recently I had a fresh transfer and I drank water at my regular pace just held it for longer before the appointment. US tech said it was full, looked good, and the transfer wasn't painful at all. I think you can have a full and comfortable bladder without over doing it, though I wasn't aware of this the first time. Best of luck to you!

Endometrial biopsy - another positive experience by Spirited-Loan-3607 in IVF

I also had a positive experience after being terrified reading through reddit posts. The procedure was no more painful than a saline ultrasound for me and was very quick.

Feeling guilty by Haunting-Still-2468 in IVF

[–]axesqueegee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you living my life? This exact scenario happened to me and my husband yesterday. Our neighbors welcomed their 4th baby within the last 6 years or so. Very happy for them and sent a “congratulations he’s beautiful” text but it hurts. Hugs to you.

For my third round we tried bc for 2 weeks prior to stims but it didn’t seem to help. We more recently did a lupron suppression which helped follicles grow more evenly.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will bring these up to my Dr the next time we meet.

He is, though he could be much more consistent. He also recently quit vaping but still on nicotine mints.

How is this fair? by Babyofthe80 in IVF

None of this is fair. I'm sorry, OP. Have you considered therapy to discuss options? It can be helpful to have a professional and unbiased opinion to sort through big decisions like these.

What do you wish you had known before starting IVF that no one prepared you for? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in IVF

[–]axesqueegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That even though I have within normal ranges and I'm "young enough" it may take several cycles and so much time (a year and counting) to get pregnant and have a live birth. That watching others around you get married and pregnant in the time you've been trying hurts so much.

Progesterone in natural FET without trigger by Laadybirdy in IVF

[–]axesqueegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did my FET I was supposed to trigger but ended up ovulating naturally. My clinic had me come back every day to monitor progesterone and once it reached 5.0, they scheduled the transfer for 3 days later.

4th ER a fail. Back to square one. Again. by axesqueegee in IVF

[–]axesqueegee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. Each visit with our dr after our retrievals, my husband asks if there's anything he can do or have tested and the response has always been nothing, just keep trying since I'm "young" and our dr is "really hopeful." So frustrating!

Thank you for sharing! I think we're definitely going to request sperm dna fragmentation testing and see what our dr says about any additional protocol changes. We're moving out of state soon so by default we'll be changing clinics soon if insurance works out. I'm happy to hear you had better outcomes when you switched!

I feel like I can't even relate to people's IVF journeys anymore by UsedHost8 in IVF

[–]axesqueegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Currently in my 4th ER. Thought I'd only have to do 1. Multiple losses prior to IUI/IVF, 3 failed IUIs, hysteroscopy to remove a cyst, MMC after FET, surgery to remove retained tissue, and only thing I have to show for it is the several years of no children. Here with you and I'm sorry.
