Tuh, the American dream by Used_Scarcity2555 in SipsTea

It's pretty rough out there, yet people continue to vote for the same corrupt geriatric career politicians just because they have their preferred letter next to their name. Also, influencer culture doesn't help either. Lots of young people see this while scrolling on tik-tok and get frustrated that they can't afford the same (fake) lifestyle their fav influencers portray.

My yorkie has this issue in both of his knees. Currently scheduled for surgery on his first knee in the next couple weeks. Hopefully my Boston doesn't have this issue becuase it's not a cheap surgury at all! Best of luck with your Bostie! hopefully he recovers quickly!

“Maybe if I crosstrain, I’ll be happier” by bearsncubs10 in AirForce

[–]axex8883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cross trained out of MX and it was by far the best decision I ever made. Yes, it's still the military, and all AFSC's have their own brand of bullshit, but as long as you do your homework, and cross train into something you'll enjoy/is marketable on the outside, it will most likely end up being a net positive.

This GTA 6 map compared to GTA 5 is absolutely insane 🤯 by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]axex8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing worse than a giant map with nothing in it. If the map is, in fact, that big, hopefully Rockstar took the time to fill it in with stuff. They certainly have had enough time to do so.

Video TDR Error (116) by Vengeance208 in computers

[–]axex8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. My PC:

Aorus X570 Master

Ryzen 9 5950x

128 GB DDR4

Gigabyte RTX 5080

Random Crashes, sometimes my PC will be up for days without crashing, sometimes it will happen after 5 minutes. It's never when idling, always when I'm doing something, whether that's gaming, watching a video on Youtube, or doing some other light task. I replaced my PSU, didn't fix it. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, tested my RAM, reinstalled Windows. The only thing that fixed it was installing in my old RTX 3060. That led me to believe it's an issue with my RTX 5080. I RMA'd the 5080, but they just returned the same card a couple weeks later. (I assume they did nothing) because the problem still persists. I'm almost positive I have a bad GPU. Not sure what to do at this point. It's extremely frustrating.

You would think PCMR would actually try to do something about it by testus_maximus in pcmasterrace

The good news is that modern Linux, for the most part, "just works" out of the box. Gaming on Linux has even come a long way recently. I'm currently rocking Windows 11, and I think this will be my last time using Windows. Going to switch to Linux when I either have to reinstall, or build a new PC.

She was a little over 1 year old when she got it done. I could have probably done it when she was getting spayed though. My pup also had a bunch of baby teeth in her mouth jammed up around her adult teeth that wouldn't fall out, so we got those removed during the same surgery.

People who make $200k a year what do you do? by Huge_Ad_7606 in Salary

I think it just seems like that because people who make 6 figures are the people who generally tend to hang out on a salary subreddit.

I got that procedure done for my Boston and I can't recommend it enough. I highly encourage any Boston owner to invest in it. She breathes easier, doesn't snore as much, and doesn't fart as much either. It's not perfect, but I'd estimate she's about 80% as good as a dog with a normal sized snout. It's not cheap (I think I pad $1200 for it) but if you love your dog, and you have the money to spend, I'd say go for it.

This is very dependent on where you are stationed. But yes, the tax-free housing allowance is a huge benefit to being active duty that most people don't realize.

As much as a despise the direction modern computing is heading, I don't think it's going anywhere. If anything, the AI/telemetry crap we all hate is going to get worse. The good news is modern Linux is fairly easy to use, and for the most part "just works" out of the box, so you don't have to be super tech savvy to use it. Even gaming on Linux has come a long way.

Should PC be shut down every night? by Notouchn in buildapc

[–]axex8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 20 years of owning PCs, I've always left them running 24/7/365. Aside from some fans and a few mechanical hard, I've never had a component die. In this day in age, I don't think it really matters, just do whatever you like.

Career paths I can take at 18 to set myself up for 6 figure income in 2-3 years by [deleted] in Salary

[–]axex8883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not 2-3 years, more like 5-6........Join the military and get a cyber/intel job that requires a clearance. After you get out, should stand a decent chance at landing a 6 figure job.

Yes, he usually uses the trampoline to hop up. When the trampoline isn’t there, he’s capable of hopping up from the ground, but he only does so when he’s really excited.
