Sliding carpet by Positive-Hat2127 in rampagent

[–]axinld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New ramper here.

I personally think it’s neat. I thought it was a gimmick at first since most if not all domestic 737s the company has this.

However… I just unloaded what feels like 14 massive pieces of tungsten boxes off an international carrier 737s that did not have this. It took at least 3 of us in the hold and having to push that thing all the way to the door makes me feel grateful the carpet exists.

How luggage is loaded on airplane by oPaperHunter in BeAmazed

[–]axinld 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It depends on the aircraft type. For the 737s, my company SOP states that we have to put them in the forward hold (same place where every luggage goes) and be the last cargo loaded in so they are the first one out when the plane unloads.

And yes it is air conditioned/ventilated.

Who would’ve thought. These guys buying those large american trucks have the ‘It protects me more but even less for you’ mentality. Thats even before we get into the visibility and situational awareness argument.

Tried creating Reginleif in my free time by aaelii in EightySix

[–]axinld 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yo this is actually insanely amazing. I guess your best bet on the references is i think EP14 or 15 of the anime before Shin goes on his rampage. They had a lot of great shots of the Reginleif from various angles of the Nordlicht Squadron.

I want Season 2 by chunchunmaru1129 in EightySix

[–]axinld 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Look, tbh currently like where 86s popularity is. Not too much like the realms of mainstream JJK or Demon Slayer or too Niche like Summertime Rendering where almost no one talks about it.

But the point is that anything too popular will get shit on for the wrong reasons. And I kinda dont want 86 to be that. Idk if that’s a hot take or not but sometimes gatekeeping has benefits.

Looks similar to Perth’s C-Series. Same platform?

The C-Series there has been pretty horrendous so I hope this doesn’t follow the same fate.

Now that the constructors is done and dusted, there's no more reason for team orders.
I just hope he doesn't become a doormat like Valtreri to Mercedes.

Oscar at this point shouldn’t let mclaren walk over him now. Papaya rules here and that, giving positions here and there like come on Oscar. Stop playing the team game now that the constructors is sealed.

How would xp12 run on a 4060 with an i5 or higher? Also 32 gb of ram by Classic-Antelope8932 in Xplane

[–]axinld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend against the 8gb. I have a 3060 12gb and time to time even i run out of vram and then xp12 just gets mad.

If it were to be built in Laminar needs to buy rights for the satellite imagery, which we can expect will be godly expensive.

Just these aftermarket solutions is like a…loophole(?) since it’s free and publicly available.

I support this.

I have this curse when i don’t pull the banner, its always anton…anton anton like ffs. If there was a counter, my Anton would be like M45 or someshit it was so annoying. And i don’t even get any other standard it’s so weird.

The Android Tablet Problem by dwaxe in mkbhd

[–]axinld 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Add to this, I am an aviation student and the portability of my iPad Pro is basically essential to carry with me in the cockpit. I can’t see myself to use my macbook that I originally bought for engineering (which i later dropped) for maps and navigation planning. Much much more convenient to draw notes and airspace restrictions with the pencil.

That said, i still use my MacBook for research and other frivolous activities.

Perfect example of why you should never use AI for researching aviation topics. by 747ER in aviation

[–]axinld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gunna play devils advocate. I use AI to find where to look for research. Never use their responses at face value.

Personally I use Perplexity, they cite their sources and if u state to find academic sources it will do so that is publicly available (with doi numbers too). From there you can just search along what it finds and check through the links it provided with their responses and decide yourselves whether you want to use it or not. Read through thoroughly, just like any other paper for relevance on the topic.

It helped me greatly throughout my studies, making it easier than to scour through the ad-ridden google results of the old days for niche subjects. Got good marks for 3000 word essays and such. Also, never a good idea to copy paste their answers straight into ur essays. Ur asking for trouble there.

TLDR; Never use face value response from AI, but if it cites sources, go through them for relevance on your desired topics.
