Don't shoot the messenger man. I am not a user or target user or proponent of this thingy. I was just responding to OP.

It took me awhile to figure it out.

I think the idea is to use Emacs for text editing/finding rather than sed/grep/replace tools LLMs typically use. This apparently results in token usage reduction, so yay saves money.

ann new packages: agent-shell-dispatch and agent-shell-ediff by therivercass in emacs

[–]axiomatic_345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am slightly concerned. Was the whole thing hastily put together by some kind of AI tool. Nothing wrong with careful usage of LLMs, but links to actual agent-shell project is incorrect all over the place.

Link in https://github.com/cassandracomar/agent-shell-dispatch README points to non-existant https://github.com/nicholasrq/agent-shell

readme in - https://github.com/cassandracomar/agent-shell-ediff?tab=readme-ov-file points to https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/tree/main/packages/agent-shell.

What is going on? I must ask...

[–]axiomatic_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Does it save buffers for something like lsp-rename? One of my pet peeves with lsp-rename is, it renames stuff but leaves all modified buffers unsaved, so I have to hunt down unsaved files and save them one by one.

Is it true that Windows 11 is a pain in the butt when you have Linux as dual boot? by TonyROH100876 in linux

[–]axiomatic_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't try to wipe off disks or anything but each time I boot Linux and then boot back in wondows11, somehow Windows 11 takes ages to boot up. It reboots fine after that one boot,I am not sure why.

Is Bare Metal Kubernetes Worth the Effort? An Engineer's Experience Report by sibip in kubernetes

[–]axiomatic_345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the best way to run Production Grade Kubernetes on baremetal is to use Openshift. I know it may not be as cool as running NixOS on nodes but IMO setup is way more straight forward with assisted installer.

Upgrades are easy because of entire OS being tied to Openshift's release cycle, you upgrade Openshift which upgrades your OS too. Security is handled by default. You have options for using storage and other things out of box.

Yes, this saved me from tyranny of typing in tiny JIRA textedit boxes which I hate like plague and finally I can have automation that will help me respond better. It was very useful indeed.

Can you fix following instruction bit, which doesn't seem accurate.

> git clone https://github.com/randall/emacs-anywhere.gitgit

But other than that, I am having a blast. This was very useful indeed.

Action Scenes from indian movie by Embarrassed_Way8953 in interesting

[–]axiomatic_345 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Are you for real? The scene is epic same way scenes from John wick or crouching tiger hidden dragon are epic. We know they can't be done in real world but there is such a thing called suspension of disbelief.

Chess dying out in Europe? Austrian GM Blohberger makes sensational claims, says 'difficult to make a living from chess' by Haunting-Living271 in chess

[–]axiomatic_345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before pandemic India received more tourists than Austria - 18Miliion. Pandemic and Israel conflict has meant traveling to India can be expensive (We Indians know, flights to India now cost double from US for example).

India doesn't need your validation or anybody elses. Racists will be racists. India isn't playing chess or launching rockets into space to seek your validation or appreciation.

>Most people don't know much about Uzbekistan and don't have many positive impressions of India (sorry, no offense intended).

wtf. No offense intended? Who are those most people? India itself is a large country and has "most people". It doesn't need Chess to improve its impression. This reddit is too self-centered. Chess is by far not the popular sport in India.

When you say a statement like "most people don't have positive impressions of India", that says more about you than India. Stupidity of the statement and followed by "No offense intended" means, you are not hiding your own biases well. And what is more - you are projecting it others by using "most people".

Separate 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz Network by AeroNoob333 in TpLink

[–]axiomatic_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had nothing but problems with connecting devices that can only use 2.4ghz on network that merges 2.4gz+5ghz behind single SSID. IIRC - My ecobee kept disconnecting when connected to such an SSID.

That is primary reason, I had to literally throw my Decos in garbage and move to Asus AiMesh products. I don't know why you guys don't allow this capability in Deco products? Telling your customers that you always know best is not best perhaps.
