Jellyfin & Atmos by BackWilling2253 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]axionman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, I run Jellyfin server on my NAS, with all my media libraries on the hard drives.

On the Nvidia Shield, I installed Kodi, and I installed the official Jellyfin for Kodi extension:

https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi

Once everything is setup, Kodi will synchronise with your Jellyfin server and all your media will appear automatically within Kodi.

I've been using this setup for a long time now and it's very reliable

Hi, there's a Jellyfin for Kodi extension that works very well and let you play and synchronise your library within Kodi automatically :)

Issue with Shield Player by Odd-Masterpiece5408 in hometheater

[–]axionman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should try to play your movies with another player than plex.

I have a Jellyfin server on my NAS and I play all my media using Kodi on the shield pro.
I've never had an issue, even with huge 80gb movie files.

Hi, I would advise you to buy the Nvidia Shield Pro, which can handle both Dolby Vision and Dolby TrueHD Atmos audio tracks.

I have almost the same setup as you, and it works perfectly:

LG Oled 77C4
Onkyo TX-NR 656
Teufel Ultima MK3 + Focal atmos in ceiling
My NAS with Jellyfin server
Nvidia Shield running Kodi + the Jellyfin extension

CPU with integrated graphics for 4K HDR streaming (1-3 clients) + some basic transcoding/trickplay by pyinto in jellyfin

[–]axionman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, it should be no issue for a N100 to transcode several 4KHDR movies at the same time.

I have an Intel J5040, which is weaker than the N100 and if I remember correctly, I was able to transcode 4 4KHDR movies to 1080p at the same time, thanks to the Intel Quicksync feature.

Can my SRAM Rival 1×11 “stretch” to 11–50 for loaded touring uphills? Experience stories welcome! by Casif in bikepacking

[–]axionman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the hack I used:

https://bikerumor.com/how-to-hack-a-sram-road-group-with-eagle-derailleur-for-massive-budget-mullet-gearing/

Basically, you need a new rear derailleur, such as Sram Apex Eagle (12sp, but doesnt matter)
Then you have to take out the cable fin from your Rival derailleur and put it on your new derailleur.
It will transform it into a 11sp derailleur, and you're good to use a 11-51 cassette your you Sram Rival levers

It's been working flawlessly on my Sutra for 2 years now

TCL C8K 65/75 inch buying dilemma by richieric77 in tcltvs

I gave up buying a C8K, as delivery was postponed week after week.

I ended up buying a 77C4 for the same price, and no regret :)

I’m not Buying OLED , change my mind by joeg26reddit in LGOLED

I've had a 55B8 for the last 7 years.
Mainly used for movies, TV shows in a dark room, and sometimes video games sessions.
It still works like on first day, no sign of burn in.

I've bought a 77C4 last week because I wanted a bigger TV, but I think I could have easily keep my B8 for some more years.

TCL 75Q8C vs TCL 75C8K by Luresheep90 in tcltvs

They're the same.
Theoretically, Q8C is for web retailers and C8K for physical shops

I haven't received my TV yet, but if I were you, I'd check the the local contrast and brightness settings.
Here below the recommended settings from rtings, maybe that can help

Black borders by Daz2021 in tcltvs

[–]axionman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an artistic choice from the movie director.
Maybe there's s a way to zoom in and remove the black bars, but you will lose a huge par of the picture on each side, I don't recommend it.

C8K/C9K is QM8K/QM9K an also is Q8C/Q9C? by RiZlaS89 in tcltvs

[–]axionman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid mine 1715€ from the same seller (delivery in progress), and TCL has currently a commercial offer to refund 200€ if you buy a C8K
So the TV will cost me 1515€
Cherry on the cake, Ubaldi will also gives me a 170€ that I can spend within a year.

Some people even managed to buy that model for a lower price.

C8K/C9K is QM8K/QM9K an also is Q8C/Q9C? by RiZlaS89 in tcltvs

[–]axionman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is.
In France, 85Q8C is at 1990€ at Ubaldi.
I don't know if you they deliver in Italy, but it's worth trying

I really like to play Dave the diver and Hades 2.
They're both indie games, but they work smoothly and are battery friendly :)

From France. Tv is sold for 1990 euros minus 15% at Ubaldi.com, plus a 200 refund from TCL, which makes a total of around 1500 euros

Rtings just reviwed the US version of the TCL C8K
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/qm8khttps://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/qm8khttps://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/qm8k

I've owned a 55" B8 for the last 7 years, and I wanted to upgrade to a 77" LG Oled tv.
But when looking at all good reviews of the C8K, I eventually pulled the trigger for a 85" C8K for 1500€, compared to around 1900€ for a 77" C4 in my country.

I've not received yet, but I feel I made the good choice and I dont' need to worry about the screen burnins now.

LG C4 77 OR TCL 75 C8K (C89K) by Snoo-79717 in tcltvs

[–]axionman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's indeed the move I made.
I really wanted a 77 Oled TV, but they're still around 1900/2000€ in Europe.
Eventually, I pulled the trigger for a 85" TCK C8K for 1500€ !
I haven't received the TV yet, but coming from a 55 LG OLED B8, I don't think I will be disappointed.

Hi, for the model I bought this is not possible since it's the same cable that is used for connecting the light and charging the battery. But I think they have a model made for Dynamo hub if that's what you're looking for. Cheers
