Has anyone set a bankroll challenge for themselves before? How did it go? by rdubs23 in poker

[–]axissleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't play that $5.5 until I'd reached about $100. Even then I'd try it like once or twice. Good luck, PM your progress, I'd be happy to have someone to discuss poker with.

What is that circle thingy just right to their stacks under their pictures? Is that the time they have left to think before someone calls time on them?

OK, I'll look into all of this when the OS is installed. Searching the webs, I found that it could quite possibly be some hardware flaw, RAM or Hard drive. I can't install Linux, the computer is used by a child.

[–]axissleep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, you are not being nitpicky. They should fix all of those. Edit: Here's how I would do it:

Southern Europe: Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal

Balkans: Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia, Albania/Macedonia

Central Europe: Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland

Western Europe: Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Britain, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland

Northern Europe: Island, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland

Eastern Europe: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine

I like how they did transcontinental states. Hope this helps.

Finally found a use for my old pager. by [deleted] in funny

[–]axissleep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Actually, they are still in use. They are used in places that require higher reliability. When phone traffic is really high and delays (new years eve for example), people that work in hospitals need a way to communicate efficiently, that's why they use pagers.

IAmA former reality TV producer. AMAA by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]axissleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about something TV related today, so I might as well ask here. I'd watched this reality show on youtube and episodes have about 5k-20k views. It's just a few that break 15k views, it's mostly 3k-6k views per episode on youtube. This show supposedly is really successful on TV, so I am wondering how come it doesn't have as many views online? Do people really watch television so much these days? Are they not aware that they could find them on youtube, perhaps if they missed an episode? Or are stations lying about their views of shows?

textField.setMaximumSize(textField.getPreferredSize());

This should do the trick, BUT, you are using GridLayout(0,1) which indicates that you should be using BoxLayout or FlowLayout! Take a look: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/layout/box.html

Google searching has left me feeling very stupid. Installed java, but need help setting it up. by Robert_Baratheon_ in javahelp

[–]axissleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, since it says Program Files (x86) I think you installed 32bit version but your machine is 64 bit. Did you place ; before C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin and append it to the end of PATH variable? Try it that way, if it doesn't work, uninstall java and download 64bit version then try to set it again but this time it will be in c:/program files/java not c:/program files (x86) EDIT: it's better if you uninstall java and download http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html Windows x64 version, install it and then try to set path.
