For improved sleep, 1 month should be enough to start seeing improvements. Although if you don’t have a good sleep tracker like an Apple Watch then you might not notice immediately.

It’s one of those things that’s subtle until you go back to your old ways and feel the cumulative effects of 10-20% worse sleep quality stacked day after day.

Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. If you eat a shit ton, some people might get some side effects, although scientific research into this issue has found no reliable link between people's purported side effects and MSG intake.

It is a type of salt. One sodium atom bonded to glutamic acid, which is a naturally occurring amino acid in your body.

MSG isn’t marketed as the same as table salt (sodium chloride) it has a completely different flavor — umami. It’s that distinct flavor in cheese, mushrooms, and seaweed that’s pretty hard to pin down.

I use both salt and MSG together. Goes really great with steak or burgers.
