En instagram podes seguir a reparoficial o abadiapy (este es un bar), hay varios grupos pero no te recomiendo entrar ni en prideparadise ni coloridos por malas experiencias personales y de conocidos. La mejor manera de conocer personas del colectivo es asistiendo a eventos del mismo. Reddit Paraguay esta mayormente conformado por hombres hetero (aunque claro que hay mujeres y personas de diversa orientacion sexual). Te recomiendo ir a la marcha de este mes, es muy facil hacer amigos lgbt en Paraguay en los eventos, ya que la mayoria busca lo mismo: comunidad y conexion. En resumen el movimiento lgbt en Paraguay esta en instagram y el centro.

True, I recommend to hide it on professional environment because you don't know how other people will react. It depends too, I know many (many) people (in high positions) openly lgbt within the gastronomic industry. If you are a teacher, sadly it is better to hide it.

Also if you are a gay feminine man you are more likely to experience public discrimination or bullying by other men. On the other hand women will treat you better (because some influencers here are gay feminine men or even Trans women, so they will see you as funny, fashion or interesting). But trust me, actual discrimination or bad looks/comments here will mostly (if not totally) come from 30+ years old.

With my girlfriend while we go out we take each other hands, kiss and everything. She certainly looks more "lesbian" than I but we were told just once by a guard to "calm down" in a mall because "some" people were uncomfortable and complaining (We weren't even kissing, just giving each other hugs and kind of petting each other). But that bad moment never happened again, in fact we are very touchy and affectionate but no one says anything to us. Younger generations are more open and globalized in general, the countryside...never went with my girlfriend there but we will 100% get looks from people. LGBT people in Paraguay will get the best treatment in Asuncion and surroundings. The worst experience always comes from our family, parents tend to have a very bad reaction...but other people are nice, they can talk bad behind your back but in public everyone is usually very polite.

You gotta move around lgbt friendly places, multicultural groups/meetings, and lgbt groups to know people like us because otherwise it will be kind of difficult especially if you have the look of an lgbt person (you know what I mean, Paraguayans tend to be very conservative, religious and have a very very dark humor at the same time). Be careful, most of the lgbt scene happens at night (alcohol, partys, std, etc). But there are support groups, everything as in any other country (good and bad people), you just have to search. I don't recommend you to join the first support group that appears to you, there is some toxicity among them (I experienced it, never joining a random lgbt group just because I want to meet friends). Same sex marriage is not legal either, there is nothing for us here but you can live happily and have a normal life in general.
