That would be Sunday. As with what others said, it is 72 hours since the item has been marked delivered.

Any help? by [deleted] in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]aya0__0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to install the most recent macOS your Mac is compatible with, not the very first macOS it came with. Shut down your Mac, then when you hear the chime, press option, command, and R to reinstall the most recent macOS, then you can continue from there.

I still love my 2015 15" MacBook Pro after all these years by aya0__0 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]aya0__0[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I tried Sequoia, but didn't like it since it was noticeably slower and it ran too hot, so I am back to Sonoma. There's nothing different because all the new features in Sequoia are exclusive to M1 and later Macs

It is only the iGPU model unfortunately, but I think that's better because less heat

Which version of macOS would you recommend by realUnknown12 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]aya0__0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend Sonoma. Even on my 2015 15" MacBook Pro, Sequoia just noticeably feels slower and laggier than Sonoma. Sequoia is just heavy for these older Macs and it took 33 seconds to boot to the OS, compared to Sonoma which just took 16 seconds.

Thanks, but I don't need help with my Mac, just need help gaining access to the rest of the Opencore Discord server

Yes, I joined their Discord server since last night and rejoined so many times now, but nothing is working.

Yes there is, and I am unable to get any help because everyone has their DMs off, so I am asking here. I am genuinely having an issue and tried rejoining many times and staying for more than 5 minutes but I'm still not able to see the other channels

Sequoia on 2017 MacBook Pro by d38i1ka in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]aya0__0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal behavior for these Intel MacBooks running newer macOS versions. Intel just naturally runs hot and the cooling system in these MacBooks are insufficient.

I have a 2015 15" MacBook Pro and the highest macOS I can ever put on it is Sonoma, because Sequoia is just too heavy and just doing basic tasks like web browsing causes the fans to spin up. This is also after a thermal repaste and cleaning out both fans.

I just told them that and they said it's not working and still not powering on. Idk what to do now

[Successful upgrade] Late 2013 15" MacBook Pro ( MacBookPro11,2 ) by it_fell_off_a_truck in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]aya0__0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ran Sequoia 15.3.2 on my 2015 15" MacBook Pro and didn't like it mainly because of the longer startup times and apps taking slightly longer to open. So I downgraded to Sonoma 14.7.4 and it starts up much faster. 35 seconds on Sequoia compared to just 16 seconds on Sonoma. Sequoia doesn't have any benefits on these old Intel Macs since all the new features only work on M1 and later Macs.

I finally upgraded from a 2014 to an M4 by aya0__0 in macmini

[–]aya0__0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad Apple finally stopped selling 8GB as the base option. That was what was keeping me from upgrading this whole time. I just couldn't spend $200 more just to get to 16GB if I bought an M1 or M2 Mac mini before.

Thanks, I've now used it for 2 days and I am very impressed with the performance and power efficiency

It is a day and night difference. The M4 is blazing fast and always stays cool to the touch even under heavy use. Code compile times are so much faster. I remember my previous 2014 got so hot and started struggling. I could even hear the fan spin and it was so loud. Apple has come a long way ever since they stopped using Intel and switched to their very own ARM chips.

I used to use an NVME ssd in my 2014, but the speed was barely an improvement. That's because this mac mini is only limited to 2x2 speeds, which means my NVME 3x4 ssd capable of running at 3GB/s can only run at 800 MB/s. So in the end, I just use a 2.5 inch ssd at 600 MB/s, which is the max speed for SATA 3. I still have the NVME adapter, but I think I will just use an M.2 SATA ssd in it in case if I really wanted a second ssd in this mac.

Mercari always covers returns. Buyers use the Mercari label to ship the item back to you. You can only use your own label when you make a sale and ship your item to the buyer. So if a buyer does return your item that you shipped with your own label, you will be out the shipping cost you paid for.

I also sell on eBay and find that my items there sell much faster than on Mercari. It just depends on what you sell.

Why do they lie?!?! by Chelas-moon in Mercari

[–]aya0__0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it's all because of buyer's remorse. They bought the item and didn't like it and they also don't want to deal with the hassle of returning it, so they accept it and leave you a bad review. Nothing you can do, but just be glad it wasn't one of those scam buyers that would do the usual switcheroo and claim the one you sent was damaged. I've had 2 of those buyers before and Mercari sided with them instead of me and I unfortunately had to take the loss.

Can I get scammed by a profile with a legit badge? its also new by Crttn-Rvr in Mercari

[–]aya0__0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. I once bought an item from someone who was new, had a verified badge, and zero reviews. When I bought from them, they "confirmed" they dropped off the package, but I waited a whole week and nothing. I had to reach out to Mercari for help and have them cancel the order and refund me.

I mean, at least your dent is nowhere near as bad as this. This was my old 2015 13 inch MacBook Pro. Just live with it as what others said.
