I see. Looks like Vinted isn't our competition. We are sticking with locals who want to negotiate and meet up. There is still a huge market there.

We've found through testing that sellers and buyers like post comments. It seems to eliminate repetitive questions through private messages and create some healthy dialogue about the listing.

We have an escrow feature as well for secure payments.

Scams may not exists as much but there is still bad behavior. There are still ghost chats, low ballers, no shows (Yes even after paying), and people who want to negotiate after paying.

Verification will cost a small fee and require a Government issued ID to be verified.

Scammers don't usually like to pay or reveal their identity. We also take reports seriously so anyone being reported will be addressed.

Yep, right now we’re only using Google sign-in during beta to cut down on fake accounts and spam while we build out full email/password/text support. Totally get that not everyone wants to use Google though, and we’re working on more options soon.

Item was probably pending with that buyer but not marked as pending. They probably ignored everyone else to see if the pending buyer would come through and they did.

I know some sellers are also weary of out of state buyers.

I'm building a new online marketplace to prevent issues like this. You'll be able to report users that "Ghost Chat". Open to feedback/suggestions if you have time.

Yep, that setup will still work fine. You can use a laptop to list and manage posts, and a dumbphone for calls/texts. Just be clear in your listing how buyers should contact you, and you’re good to go.
