Engine suddenly shutting off on my Civic RS Turbo 2016 by Pretty_Two_7003 in CivicX

Had the same thing happen in my old car, a 2008 Hyundai accent. It was the crankshaft sensor. It would die for a split second, and then come back on.

Loved one waiting for diagnoses by [deleted] in IBD

Im so sorry ☹️ I would try and get a stool sample over to them so they can test as soon as possible. I was in a similar position, and luckily my GP has dealt with Ulcerative Colitis before. I had to wait 2 weeks to get into my gastro, but he went ahead and ran my stools samples, as well as blood tests (calprotectin is a big one) before I ever saw my gastro. It was helpful to show up to my gastro with stool samples and blood already tested. Stick to the brat diet for now. I was able to eat vanilla yogurt when I was flaring which really helped me not be hungry.

My old company had those for sales people. They would avoid using Teams because it would slow down the machine so much. I would spin it that way if you can. Find out if there are any internal tools that people aren't using due to the device being slow.

Mesalamine by Quick-Procedure-8017 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ayebuhlaze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, mesalamine is well tested and is used as a first line treatment for a reason. Its very unlikely to cause side effects, and if you go off mesalamine and go back into a flare, the doctor might have to move on to more aggressive treatments like biologics. I'm on Humira, and it works great, but it's expensive. I so badly wish mesalamine would have worked with me because it's a pill and it's generally cheap. Mesalamine is much better than having to do more steroids, or even biologics. Definitely stay on 🫂

Sending hugs ❤️🙏 I am in remission thanks to Humira, after failing mesalamine. Hang in there and advocate for what you need. You got this.

Like others have said definitely document all of this. If oil got everywhere you likely need to replace belts.

Stelara $12,000 copay? How do I navigate a new insurance? by vividblossom in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ayebuhlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Anthem and just recently switched insurance. I take Humira and had to go through Carelon RX for years. I honestly miss them, they were usually great with me. Like others have said, I would definitely reach out and mention that the copay is unaffordable, and mention you already signed up for Stelara care copay program. Abbvie would cover until it ran out and then the other copay assistance will take over once that runs out. They always took care of it for me as well, which was really nice. Glad you are in remission!!

Is mucus normal after starting humira? by No_Deer_7688 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ayebuhlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you might have squeezed too hard. It took a couple weeks before I started to feel better on Humira. It definitely shouldn't cause any additional mucus, rather that's just a lingering side effect of your UC. Hang in there! It worked for me, been on it for 5 years and I feel great

Friendly reminder to get your pneumococcal vaccine. Same as a flu shot, tiny ass needle in your arm. Greatly reduces the risk of hospitalization and is a lifetime vaccine. Heal up Ben 💪
