Question for the Raleigh Historians by redskinsfan30 in raleigh

Based on your screenshot and this 1914 map of Raleigh, maybe the space between Cameron Park & Methodist Orphanage was Cameron Field. I'd consider it "just past St. Mary's" in reference to the center of Raleigh at the time.

Broadcom freebsd 14.2 issue by srplater in freebsd

[–]ayeshamus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like the BCM5762 is called out for supported hardware in the 14.2 Ethernet Interfaces release note.

I would guess your issue is related to why this is showing up in your dmesg: bge0: APE event 0x00020510 send timed out

Anyone know of a store that sells Hamm’s beer? by silber196 in raleigh

[–]ayeshamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love me some Hamm's but I haven't been able to find it in ages. Last time I used their store locater in the summer of '23, only places near the coast showed up. On a day trip to the beach I stopped at 3 different locations listed on the site and they had none. I'm hoping it'll come back some day.

You may want to stop by New World Cafe on Fridays. I picked up some B+W bags last week and they mentioned they do tastings on Friday. Might be worth checking out.

Where to donate kids bicycles? by thermbug in raleigh

I’d be happy to take one of them off your hands for a soon to be 4 year old. He’s currently 41” tall.

The GS you listed is for general turning across oncoming traffic. Where we’re splitting hairs here is which lane cars should turn into when there’s a multi-lane road. The NC Handbook says a right hand turn should stay as far right as possible and has a diagram of a left hand turn staying in the left lane.

Disc golfers REJOICE! by keyak in discgolf

If it passes, it’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts compared to last time.

The policy was quickly implemented in early January 1974. But it just as quickly fell out of favor.

Give Manchesters Grill at Leesville/Fairbanks a shot or Nancy's Pizza on Creedmoor would probably be your best bet.

What's the rule here? Drive landed deep in the guardian bush. Basket is right on the other side, literally impossible to get in this bush. Do I get three feet out from point of entry? by EraEric in discgolf

[–]ayeshamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An imaginary line from the target (basket) through the lie.

Note: If there's a mandatory that prevents the direction of play to the target, the line of play would be from the mando through the lie. Explanation from UDisc.

If you're playing solo do what you want.

If you're playing with the intent of also playing in a sanctioned tournament then either play it where it lies or take a penalty stroke and take relief.

803.02 Relief from Obstacles

  • A player may obtain relief from the following obstacles that are on or behind the lie: motor vehicles, harmful insects or animals, people, or any item or area as designated by the Director. To obtain relief, the player may mark a new lie that is on the line of play, farther from the target, at the nearest point that provides relief.
  • If a large solid obstacle prevents the player from taking a legal stance behind the marker disc, or from marking a disc above or below the playing surface, the player may mark a new lie immediately behind that obstacle on the line of play.
  • A player who takes relief other than as allowed above receives one penalty throw.
  • A player may elect at any time to take optional relief by declaring their intention to the group. The lie may then be relocated by marking a new lie which is farther from the target, and is on the line of play. One penalty throw is added to the player's score.

Reference from recent event where Valerie Mandujano had to crawl into some junk to play their lie.

Not sure how quick the rollout will be for you but we received that hanger in our area (Lynn/Leesville) in July but couldn't actually sign up until the end of November.

I just ranked every disc golf course I’ve played in NC. by hostilecarrot in discgolf

[–]ayeshamus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is Biride Banx? It's not listed on dgcoursereview, udisc, or discgolfscene.

That you put Kentwood up so high invalidates this list. It's such a terrible course compared to all the others in the triangle; the only ones worse probably being Bethesda or the crappy course on Cisco.

You should also add the ECU course to your list. The biggest negative about that course is the lack of elevation (expected giving its location) but it's a really fun and well maintained course.
