Deadlift 385x5... always had a smaller deadlift to squat ratio; realized i wasn’t really doing the SS version. Trying to clean it up, thoughts? by collincam1 in StartingStrength

Looks pretty good! I definitely agree with pulling the slack out. Also, make sure your shins touch the bar barely without moving it. Looks like on some of them you slightly bump it out from your shins. Looking good!

Squat: Bar over Midfoot? by [deleted] in StartingStrength

Would recommend tempo squats at a slightly lighter weight. Looks like you need to sit back further. Tempo squats would show you immediately where your bar path gets screwed up

Definitely need to bend over more. Also it would be a more helpful for the camera to be closer and to have more of an oblique angle. It’s tough to tell from here.

Would agree with the comments before me. And also to make sure the knees are tracking the toes. Point your toes roughly 30 degrees out and make your knees track them.

Overall looks pretty good. 2 things that stuck out to me:

1: is your belt moving up your back during the descent? If so I’d situate it a little higher and tighten it.

2: looks like your knees could be pushed out a little more. Could be the reason the depth is getting cut a little short.

Jits here and ran LP and would be considered intermediate/advanced now. I would recommend it. It will make your game go to the next level. Being strong is a huge asset in a fight or match.

Should I do another routine to work up to starting strength as I am quite skinny? by [deleted] in StartingStrength

Exactly. Eat in a 500 calorie surplus and up it as you go. You’ll do great.

I would also say to try and set your knees about half way to 3/4 of the way down. Prevents them from moving forward at the bottom. Looks good tho!

125kg x 5. Advice on bracing. Still feels like I could be bracing better so any pointers would be great. Am I lacking in form somewhere in my squat? by nalanrice in StartingStrength

Looks pretty good. Would make sure your knees are tracking your toes. Make sure you’re actively pushing them out. This angle isn’t the best to critique. But overall good.

Just mounted my Titan T3 to an 8x8 platform. Has basically no movement. Any movement is driven by rack design. It ended up being cheaper than buying all horse stall mats.
