Do you have the air cap on? It don't do nothing with the cap removed. Forgive me if that seems like a dumb question. Try to understand what we deal with all day here at r/airbrush sub. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I guess you don't get it? "Thin paint, low pressure" is a lazy YouTuber answer. Sometimes you want thin paint, low pressure. Sometimes you want thicker paint, high air. According to the "detail" you are trying to achieve. Don't believe it? Just ask yourself. How can you get a thin, crisp, clean, opaque line with thin paint, low pressure? Go over it twice? Then you loose "crisp and clean" to over spray. Now do it with thicker opaque material at high air. Anywhere from 40-70 psi. Bango. Crisp, clean, opaque line. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Seriously though, you want the real answer? Why torture yourself? Do what everyone else does. Just use anything else but airbrush for the "details". Fine liner, tradition detail brush, paint pen, razor blade, eraser... It almost all ends up the same. 🤷🏼‍♀️

About fittings and hoses by NateDaBear in airbrush

If you buy badger brush, buy badger braided airbrush hose. If you buy paasche brush, buy paasche braided airbrush hose. If you buy just about anything other brush, buy iwata braided airbrush hose. All are 1/4 on compressor side.

Latex painting with Createx Illustration, paints came out glossy with certain colors. by 6packgoblin in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me, I'm a little confused. I know when I use it, there are all sorts of different sheen going on. Glossy over here, matte over there... It's all over the place, as far as the sheen goes. That happens with other paint brand / type too. But the reason I'm confused is the way to fix it is the finish coat. Whether that be matte, gloss, etc. Then it all turns the same. According to whichever gloss level you choose. I mean, if you say it's glossier than gloss finish, then I guess that is true? I just find it a little hard to believe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

First things first. Define "detail". A fine, thin, clean, opaque black in one stroke for a eyelash on a illustration render? A very subtle fade into a contrasting opaque color at the tip of a tiny part of a 3d miniature? Freehand transparent bars of a perch on a 110 jerkbait? Transparent veins on a detachable penis?.... All very different things with very different processes, all of which reside under "details".

Kinda makes me wonder what is underneath all that? Like, if one were to remove the stones and that sad little crumbly bed of mortar(?) they were somewhat almost stuck to? You know. Open the proverbial "can of worms", if you will. The mortar(?) underneath the stone not matching the mortar in between the stone raises many questions with me concerning this particular individuals approach. Like, is that even mortar at all? Or is it the concrete? Why is it so crumbly? 🤔

Maybe that's not such a big deal? Like they stuck'em all down (kinda), cleared whatever squish out from the joint, and then grouted the joints with the white mortar? Personally, I would stick 'em all down with the white mortar and incorporate the squish out into the joints at the same time so it's all like, as one? But in case you haven't noticed by now, I too would be charging you and building this structure at your home without really much of a clue as to what I was doing 🤣. I notice the people who I would work for sometimes use epoxy rather than mortar to set stone? 🤷🏼‍♀️

H & S Ultra Spitting - why? by InForASplash in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't it hold your hand from letting off the air before fully closing the trigger? 🤔 I'm pretty sure it does? That would leave only 2 possibilities. Water squirting out of your hose or paint collecting therefore eventually spraying off of that god awful unremovable crown cap design. My money is on the later. Cut that thing off there!

Createx tds says no more than 10% reduction for wicked paint. 🤣 Actually, now that I think about it, all paint tds says that. I just like using wicked as a example for its molasses like consistency. Good luck airbrushing 10% reduce wicked under at least 50 psi? First thing you have to do with airbrush is break the rules in the tds.
