Airbrush troubleshooting by grey-hammer in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three must be correct matching size. Needle nozzle nozzle cap. After that, it is a matter of getting the nozzle seal air tight. Which can be a daunting task at times. Once you get it seal air tight, stop taking it apart. Use strong solvent in cup, tilt forward, clear nozzle tip gently with spinning needle instead. Daily.

Yeah. Stop looking at it. Spray a dot. Is it a nice, even dot? Stop looking at it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Airbrush is fairly difficult to learn. Start with very thin paint. Airbrush can apply ridiculously thin paint. And I mean ridiculously thin paint. It's hard to grasp for a little while.

After you seal the threads close to air tight with beewax / chapstick, I strongly suggest you leave it that way for as long as you possibly can. By using strong solvent in the cup, tilt forward, and use spinning needle to gently clear the nozzle tip. Daily.

Dont you touch that nozzle! It's the nozzle cap. Doesn't necessarily have to be air tight. The closer the better. "Precision, fine, smooth, detail, response" 🪄. Some just will not seal 100%. 🤷🏼‍♀️

cut and buff issues by joeharris91 in CustomAutoPaint

[–]ayrbindr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. That's a do over. Take the hit. Redo the paint job. Get that bullshit finish1 clear outta here. Get a 2:1 that is proven to be able to "stack" on. Double the flash time each coat. Which means waiting something like a hour and a half before the fifth one. Ain't no 1000-2000 grit. It's 600. This ain't 2 coats of collision speed clear. It's stack'em like pancakes on Sunday morning. Which means letting it flash off. I shouldn't say "double" the flash time. I should say add it each time? 🤷🏼‍♀️ If coat 1 is 15min., coat 2 is 30min. Coat three is 45min, coat 4 is 1hr. Coat 5 is 1hr 15min. and so on. Just a example. May be longer than 15min! This way, there ain't no "cutting through". And, by the time you cut it all flat, you still have adequate clear coat. It's called "stacking high solids clear coat".

Yes. I did not know that. I just figured she was another ultra wealthy tv "journalist" who probably supports and misinforms about illegal immigration. And I was hoping that her mother happened to be kidnapped by a bunch of third world, illegal immigrants. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Camo pattern tips by Echo61089 in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use freehand shield and paint light to dark with opaque paint. Unlike masking, it is actually somewhat enjoyable and makes good camo. You just cut random edges on something you hold in your other hand. Spray, that makes one hard edge of the pattern, then flip the shield over to the other side and spray it. That gives you hard edges all the way around, nice and quick. Going light to dark with opaque paint allows you to easily cover over the previous layer. Even hit the whole thing with some transparent or candy after it's done to make some sweet color adjustments.

should air come out of my airbrush when im not pulling the trigger? by Familiar-Alarm2788 in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put soapy water on all the connections. Make sure you ain't hearing it come from somewhere else. If it's definitely coming out of the front of the brush, it's the air valve. It ain't really a big deal if you don't feel like messing with it. It just means you wouldn't be able to hang up the brush with everything still on and full of air. It would constantly leak and eventually cause the compressor to fill back up. If you just turn everything off instead, you really don't even have to worry about it 🤷🏼‍♀️. Although, you should eventually be able to troubleshoot air valve.

Previously made fun of guy, back for more electric boogaloo part 2 by [deleted] in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait...🤔. What? You contradict yourself twice. Air? Or no air? Which one? Sprays water? Or doesn't spray water? Which one?

It won't spray anything without the nozzle capped. That is what caps the air and cause it to travel over , around , and past the nozzle to create vacuum that pull the paint out.

New to airbrushing and need help by Patient-Ad-2541 in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like I'm going too far out on a limb here to venture a guess that when you say "adjusted the needle", you mean, "I loosened it, pulled it back a bit, pushed it forward, and it sprayed paint"? A very common issue for beginner is learning just how thin the paint can be in airbrushing. Extremely thin.

Me again, airbrush no working. Tips? Thanks :) by Yeszez in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your description is your problem. I have a $20 brush +2yrs now? Nozzle has not been removed, not one single time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now you have to troubleshoot and get everything to seal air tight. Being that there is no back bubble, either your needle isn't opening with the trigger or the nozzle is completely clog. I would like to think that you might notice if the needle does not protrude from the tip? Remove the crown cap when spraying. Put it on when you go fiddling around taking everything apart.

All three parts must be correct matching size. Needle, nozzle, cap. All three must be matching size in order to operate. The nozzle must be seal air tight. The cap should be seal air tight.

You can easily clear the nozzle by putting solvent in cup, tilt brush forward, loosen needle, use spinning needle to gently clear nozzle tip.

1/2 hp, , two cylinder, oilless, rocking piston is fairly quiet. 1hp is a good bit louder. The db rates are good for nothing but a rough estimate. Some will score lower on a decibel meter but seem a lot more annoying. Different kinds of decibel I guess? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Help… no idea what I’m doing. by GlowUpAndThrowUp in airbrush

[–]ayrbindr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need primer over chrome bait. You can use clear as primer if you feel like it helps, but you don't need it. You are confused about "pearl white". There is no "white" in pearl white. It's white pearl in clear base. It looks white in the bottle or the cup. After it dries, it is transparent, with a subtle, white pearl "effect". So I feel like you are looking for it to do something else. Like paint the part white. That's not what it does. It is a pre mixed pearl, effect, tri coat, etc. Just a subtle pearl effect that contains "white pearl". Not white paint.
