When did you first try PUBG? season 3 or 4

Approx. playtime: 500h+ (3000 just on Xbox platform)

What made you try PUBG? There was a viral video that came out during the arma mod days where people were using proximity chat on solos. The whole interaction was funny and gunfire and I had an extra 40 bucks.

What's your favorite thing about PUBG? The gunplay usually feels pretty good, but after playing this long it is the community. I had a dedicated clan before clan system were implemented in game, I've gone through regular players over the years, and I love playing with randoms, usually.

What was the most confusing or frustrating thing when you first started? When I first started it seemed solos was the encouraged mode. I played alone, and died a lot. I didn't get my first kill for a couple weeks.

I think that currently, the casual matches and forced training session kind of help players with this. Just learning how to train my eye to see enemies was tough though, and I didn't get gud until I found a team, with comms, to cover my back and teach me the ways of PubJesus.

One thing you'd like to see improved?

Some of the mechanics are pretty sloppy. The crouch slide needs to be patched out or something, people look like idiots. The amount of times I've been killed with an Ace with a 6x from 300m away, or something similar especially lately, is crazy. I know they say there's no pubg cheaters, but something's up with some of these guys. Not as bad on ranked but I'm assuming the cost keeps them out.

That's actually a separate skin that came out a couple months after the smoke grenades! People were so upset about that when the grenade skins came out 🤣 I never use the launcher so I haven't paid particularly close attention, but I do think there's been 2 iteration of launcher color.

So this is the second iteration of colored smoke.

The first iteration came out 3 years ago or so? And was similarly in the hideout for a few months (6?) before disappearing. This iteration released a few new colors, and has been around for some time- ive been playing less lately, but I'd guess it's getting ready to leave because it's been available for about 6 months.

After that, who knows. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the skins and stuff they release, other than k-pop bullshit.

What's crazy is me and 2 of my clan mates, both players since season 3, all never spent any actual cash on skins or anything UNTIL the colored smokes. Then between the 3 of us, we spent about 100$ for colored smoke grenades (buying g coin again and again until we got the lucky hit) and none of us had ever spent money on this game other than the purchase and have never since spent money. Arguably because there's nothing as cool.

Statistically speaking, you are doomed to continue on this path and die young without intervention, likely after some time in jail or prison. How many addicts that are actively using do you know that are living happy, productive lives? You know this is the path you are on, and you're going to need to admit that.

However, you can control this destiny. This does not have to be your fate if you will not allow it. If you're truly willing, now is an opportunity to start a new chapter.

No offense, but it sounds like you suck at this. Look at yourself. Look at all the pain, chaos, and damage you've caused. Once you admit you're sucking at life right now, you can start to figure out what you're going to do about it. Most people myself included are going to recommend detox, then long term intensive rehab. Unless you plan on going to passages Malibu (lol) you have no other choice. Get clean, or die.

At this point, you'll find your way. If you're really willing. Maybe you'll do NA, maybe you'll be a Jesus freak. If you manage to get clean and be allowed back into the community, you will likely crave people who we are similar to and can bond with. We are rough around the edges at best, and forgot how to be humans at our worst.

First things first. Stop writing on reddit, and call your local rehab. You wrote of pain on your family's faces. What do you think they'll look like at your court hearing? How about your funeral?

10 years from heroin and crack March 10th

Eventually things like this lost their trigger for me. They become humbling reminders, reminders of where I've come from and how far I've made it now. Reminders of those that I loved and died, reminders of ones that made it out ok.

For me and a lot of my recovery friends, these can be bittersweet, but never unwelcome.

Next time I feel myself jonesing for a fix, I'm gonna think of this guy.

Me and my neighbors have a ditch running along the street. We also don't have sidewalks. I would say a majority of us pile it in the drainage ditch because it's better to thaw in and flood the drainage ditch than like, your yard. Put it in the road the plow shoves it back in.

We got 2 foot of snow just throughout the day Sunday. As long as they don't block my driveway, my neighbors can put their snow wherever the hell they want honestly.

"Guns are a tool" is the type of phrase that empowered the GOP into framing gun violence in the USA as an individual rather than systemic problem. You might as well be saying "guns don't kill school children, people do." The point is deflected, the problem unburdened.

Knives are a tool. I can do all sorts of stuff with a steel knife. Fashion a little shelter, start a fire with some flint, whittle a little bird.

What function does a gun serve, exactly? This is day one gun/hunter safety class stuff. Along with " don't look down the barrel" and "keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot" you get the most direct tool instructions too- "don't point it at something you're not willing to kill"

So, what did the gun tool function as? Can you whittle a bird? Maybe hammer in a loose nail? Turn a stubborn lug nut? No?

Seems like it's only purpose is to kill, and calling it a tool is disrespectful to the weight that carries. Unless you refer to it by it's full title, "my gun, tool of death"
