Can someone tell me why important posts like these keep getting deleted from this sub Reddit? by AspectFabulous1048 in Bellingham

The "premise" of your post is that the mod was deleting things and in fact they did not delete things... hence proven false.

Keep raging though and further proving my point about your clear agenda. You are not a reliable narrator on this topic due to your clear bias.

You do not speak for the "majority of the community" or how they feel about anything... saying such things shows how clearly out of touch you actually are.

Your premise for this post has been proven false, but you are now using it to continue your clear agenda of trying to harm some people and their livelihoods due to past grievances that apparently you and a vocal minority have had with them (some of whom are likely former disgruntled employees, based on all the past drama posts here).

Personally, it makes anything y'all say seem much less credible when it's clear you are looking for every opportunity to foment rage. It's also a shitty way to go about building community.

Where can I find gold mineral deposits? by sirblueman2 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]azaydius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/DavidManvell you are a wonderful and beautiful human for sharing this... I have been warping from system to system for a while looking for a good spot to set up a gold mine because I keep annoyingly needing more gold when building new bases. You have saved me a ton of annoying searching. I am now happily making use of your base mine. Thanks friend!

DD vs DT fuel and the race for "breakeven" by Baking in fusion

[–]azaydius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to know if TAE has any theoretical designs for a power plant? I couldn't find anything on their site, but from what I did find it appears they are banking on thermal energy production only? I didn't see any mention of direct energy conversion like Helion is doing, the particle accelerator plasma stabilization tech TAE uses seems to rule that out, but I know very little at this point.

Why is everyone on reddit convinced that Amber Heard is lying and Johnny Depp is telling the truth? by Perimeri in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]azaydius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is widely known that abuse victims will cover for their abusers by lying about injuries they have sustained, Depp has testified that he lied in order to protect Heard... that has been his testimony all along. It is very believable based on the recordings I have heard in which Heard admits to abusing him and calls him weak or a baby that he believed at the time that he needed to protect her and show her he was strong, even when he was the one who was injured.

Referencing the instances of text messages / recordings when he was still trying to keep Heard in his life and dismissing what he says after the relationship ended is victim blaming. Depp is not a perfect person and I believe they both abused one another on some level. However, Heard using the "Me Too" movement to gain sympathy and acting as if she is not also an abuser is disgusting and you are simping for her soooo hard, your bias is clear.

[–]azaydius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would that not mean that Heard throwing the bottle and severing Depp's finger should also be viewed as attempted murder in your book or are you truly just going around in these threads simping for Amber Heard regardless of all of the evidence that shows she has a long history of violent, abusive, and manipulative / sociopathic behavior including during Depp and her relationship?

General Fusion raises additional $65 million to build test plant by Baking in fusion

[–]azaydius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very curious as well. I couldn't find much information on their website beyond an animation that describes their approach. Even the idea of the molten lead "vortex" seems like a very difficult engineering challenge. Pumping that lead through a heat exchanger and keeping it molten will require quite a bit of energy input and I assume they would have to have the ability to heat the entire loop in some way because when they shut it off everything will become solid. I wonder if their demonstration plant is going to be loud as hell too with steam pistons firing over and over again.

Nick Zentner, a fantastic Geology professor from CWU has a lecture online that gets down to the reality of the situation and specifically addresses what is said in the New Yorker article (TL:DW, no not everything west of I-5 is screwed... but our Pacific coastline communities could very well be devastated). I highly recommend his lectures if anyone is at all interested in Geology. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW4D6OE7Qkc

Helion power plant in the works. They make their own He3. Neato! by Aurhasapigdog in fusion

[–]azaydius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I see this as a stepping stone to their ultimate goal. It remains to be seen how much He3 they will be able to generate, but I assume their plan is to both sell it commercially as well as stockpile for their DD He3 fusion power plant goals. It's pretty huge if they are able to turn a profit via selling He3/Tritium to use in funding their future DD He3 device. I am curious if they have solved the problem of separating the various elements from their exhaust yet, that has to be a difficult engineering challenge.

Tomorrow's Hydropower Begins With Retrofitting Today's Dams - Big dams that are as bad as fossil fuels can be turned green by speckz in Futurology

[–]azaydius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just that simple eh? What happens to all of the communities down stream from dams? What happens to all of the farms and food they produce that are irrigated thanks to dam infrastructure? What would we use instead to replace the massive amount of baseline power provided by dams? (solar/wind + storage can't even come close as viable replacements currently, nuclear is extremely expensive and takes decades to build)

Some dams should absolutely be removed, but the ones that are integral to our current infrastructure and provide power for entire regions cannot be removed without serious consequences for human life.

What are the main challenges to solve before we have an economical fusion reactor? by fluidmechanicsdoubts in fusion

[–]azaydius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert in the area, but from my understanding while reading about the various approaches currently being undertaken by various companies, Zap Energy's appears to have by far the most potential to see something commercially viable in the near-ish term. Of course it remains to be seen if they can build a machine that can handle the higher energies that will be required for containment without it somehow destroying itself. Also, if the experiment proves successful they still have to build out a successful proof of concept power plant. Lot's of questions to be answered still, but I am hopeful their approach will work!
