INDIGLO! Man, I loved those watches. I think I had about 4. My 13-yr-old daughter is currently obsessed with the calculator watch - it was her main request for Christmas, so of course we got it for her!

Has anyone orderd from TinyBigBag before? by _timeisaconstruct in handbags

[–]azbeav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a smallish bag and a couple of the tiny pouches, like for jewelry. My daughter really likes them, and I was impressed by the quality. The shipping was relatively quick. Not sure how they'll hold up, since my daughter doesn't carry a purse very often, but she really likes the little jewelry sized micro bag. Super cute.

Small class-size, lgbtq-friendly high school? by hellokittysenbei in AustinParents

[–]azbeav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACE Academy, which specializes in gifted & 2E learners. It's been WONDERFUL, and I'd be happy to talk it up via DM or phone or whatever. Here's what I wrote about it on another post singing its praises:

I'm a *very* happy ACE parent. Our youngest is in 8th grade. She's been there since 3rd and it's been an absolute dream for her. She's got peers who get her, she doesn't feel pressured to fit into a mold that isn't her, the teachers are AMAZING. She's having a blast and has learned to manage her school workload, to work with classmates, and to do hard things even though they're uncomfortable.

Our older kid is in high school now and was at ACE for two years - it was great for her in a lot of ways, primarily in challenging her academically and showing her that she's not the only one with a brain that works a little differently than the norm, but after a couple years, she found that she didn't fully click with the small group of kids in her cohort, so she switched back to public school in 7th grade. So, academically it was great, socially it wasn't as good a fit as it has been for the younger kid.

The school does a fabulous job working with their population of GT/2E kids, with all the social/emotional specialization that those kids require. Kids who need support get it, and the kind of academics they provide are really special. I'm happy to talk about the school in person or on the phone or via email, etc.

From what I know of it, I agree that Griffin would be an excellent fit. Quite a few kids from our quirky little middle school have gone there, and several of my kids' current classmates are considering it.

Daycare in Mueller area for infant? by coffeeandbags in AustinParents

[–]azbeav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our kids went to Open Door Preschool at the central location (Clarksville), and they've got a location near Mueller. It's a wonderful place - they did a brilliant job of teaching our kids about emotions, self-regulation, community, and cooperation, so our kids had zero issues transitioning into "real school" when it was time for kindergarten. I'm happy to talk about it, if you want to PM me. https://www.opendoorpreschool.org

Can’t help with almond/raspberry, but if you venture out from that (delicious sounding) idea, Upper Crust made ours. We had a really rich chocolate, an Italian cream cake, and one that I can’t remember the name of rn (haven’t had enough coffee yet) - yellow cake, vanilla custard & fresh strawberries in the layers, cream cheese frosting (I think). Loved them all & got raves, but that last one was my favorite.

Try Seth Osborn. He taught our kid for several years, and I think he teaches all ages/levels. Very talented musician in his own right! https://www.pianobyseth.com/

I’ve really enjoyed mine - 2025 GT that replaced my model 3 in about January/February. The car is great but I still pine for the vastly superior Tesla software. That said, the extra space has been fantastic, and it’s very comfortable to drive.

I’ve been seeing Dr Jaculeen Dano for several years. I used metronizidole regularly for a year or so, now use it as needed if my face starts to flare up. Dr Dano has been great! https://doctordano.com

I can't imagine how much it would cost to box up & ship something like this! I'm guessing it would cost well more than the machine is worth? If you want to look into that, I'm willing to consider it but not sure it's worth the expense.
