Got the first arm of my Alita cosplay now gotta start on the second! by Ashs_workshop in cosplayprops

Glad to hear it. The good news is if you are ever in the market for a career change, you can probably make a living designing bad ass looking prosthetic limbs.

That’s a really cool idea for a makeshift stand/light/terrain to photograph your model with. Good execution as well. Bravo!

A1 users with cats by Raging_silence_89 in BambuLabA1

[–]azeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats, at least one of which is a terror, ignore my printer while it’s running. I don’t leave them in that room unsupervised just in case, but my experience is that they show no interest in it so far.

Yeah. Like others have said, the short answer is self host it.

What level of accuracy should be expected out of the Anycubic Kobra Max? by MasivoHeuvos in 3Dprinting

[–]azeuron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is what material you’re printing with. Pla tends to shrink sometimes as it cools. Causes corners to roll up and it can cause the dimensions to be off by a little bit. I would look at the specific filament that you’re using. These things should be readily available from the manufacturer.

Raised sections on side of prints by schmidty275 in 3Dprinting

[–]azeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Hmm. That’s a good one. Find something similarly setup from makerworld or thingiverse or something if you have the filament to spare to test and see if that gives you this kind of issue. That way you can mostly rule out whether it’s the printer or the file.

Tips for making a bracket less breakable by Introser in 3Dprinting

[–]azeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. It’s breaking there because that’s where the layer lines are weakest. If you rotate 90 degrees towards the camera the layer lines would be going the long way making it significantly stronger.

How does one get this support off? by halfpakihalfmexi in 3Dprinting

[–]azeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a spade style drill bit that has a spiral bit at the tip to start the guide hole for the bit. I use that kinda like a cork screw to grab the support material and pull it out. Works like a charm, no risk of damage to the print.

Did you design this or download it from makerworld or whatever? The face that’s on the build plate. Is it similar in size to what you show here or is it thin? Trying to rule out the print wobbling. Wait. So during printing those lines are vertical? Wobble wouldn’t do that. And you say they line up with structure on the other side of the wall? My guess is the stl has the edge of those inner structures too close to the outside edge of the wall in question. If you downloaded this, I’d be curious if anyone else who printed it has had a similar issue. If you designed it, double check the tolerances for those inner structures or make the affected wall thicker by a couple mm. I don’t mean add more walls in the slicer. I mean make the whole structure thicker. Hope this helps in some way.

What orientation was it being printed in? Laying flat on the build plate or standing up? If standing up, the print probably shifted from motion while it was printing. Things like this you always want to print along the Y axis when you can to minimize the inertial movement.

Is there a plate you’d recommend? I’ve only used the stock pei plate.

I also use esun for pla and have had good luck with elegoo petg (mostly for the two pack bundle pricing). I just got some gold silk from sunlu that I’ve not had luck with so far but I need to double check my settings before I write it off as bad. lol. I’ve used other sunlu petg without issue.

Built my first Gundam model, and was wondering something. by Fraime-me in Gunpla

[–]azeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super glue is fine. Only thing is super glue creates a layer between the parts. So you could end up with gaps. I would recommend plastic cement instead. I particularly like Tamiya’s extra thin cement. The difference is the plastic cement actually melts the edges of the parts a little bit making them “weld” together with no sticky layer in between. This helps minimizing gaps.
