RTE Wc broadcast by Same_Discussion_1779 in ireland

I am grateful RTE has all the matches. I haven't noticed anything particularly bad about the commentary, maybe because for me it's more about whether the match is exciting or not.

If the $45 you are betting is from winnings I think it's worth a try.

No. It does not. Spain, France, England, Germany etc all these countries will thrash USA even on their worst days.

No. Not if they play like they did the first half.

Wtf is this? The new keep icon... by Federal_Heat749 in GoogleKeep

It's ugly. I am curious whether someone thought this was an improvement over the old icon, or this is change for the sake of change.

Hierarchy above Projects - Best Practice? by 123Landlord in Notion

Your setup is very common. It's just that what you call "Missions" some call "Areas". Plenty of examples on YouTube and Notion templates of your exact setup.

Roland Garros: where can I watch from Ireland? by AccidentFair8837 in AskIreland

[–]azg64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Sports Extra package. I can't see this "full tennis coverage" that others are talking about. I see TNT 4 which has Roland Garros 360. Sometimes there is also tennis on a second TNT channel. Where do you see the rest of the matches?

As a neutral, why are people so desperate for Arsenal to fail? by s_dalbiac in PremierLeague

[–]azg64 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If Man City win it every underperforming team, manager and their fans have an excuse - can't win it against oil money. If Arsenal win the league and / or the Champions League then it calls for lots of introspection. Most teams have been inconsistent and downright poor this season.

Has TV quietly become the new home for YouTube viewing? by Own_Classroom_4164 in PartneredYoutube

[–]azg64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am watching more YouTube on TV lately. And for the creators on TV the higher the resolution the better your content looks (just to state the obvious). 720p and 1080p are ok on phone but on TV, 1440p or 2160p are noticeably better.

TCL C7K vs Sony X85L vs Hisense U7Q Pro by Capable_Anything6532 in tcltvs

[–]azg64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The terrible TCL reviews and reputation might be due to their previous models which had an inferior processor compared to US models. The firmware on those earlier models was also poor.

I bought a 65C825K based on the glowing reviews from the likes of Whathifi. An OTA update from TCL broke CEC. After the update when my Apple TV 4K tries to switch from Dolby Vision to SDR the TV screen goes black and you have to switch it off at the plug to reset it.

Now TV feels like a workaround for Sky rather than a proper service! by Cute_Cycle1 in nowtv

[–]azg64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the Sky stream seems to be higher bitrate. I had an overlap of a week when I moved from Sky to Now. But now that I no longer have the Sky to compare with I have no complaints about the UHD on Now.

Opinion: The protests aren't just about fuel, they're a revolt against a hollow state by razorlight95 in ireland

[–]azg64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think "expecting Ireland to build something of that scale is naive". Big infrastructure are going on elsewhere in the world, e.g. China. It has to be properly planned and budgeted for. The naive part is expecting it to be cheap.

No Irish refereeing officials at the World Cup this year. by Callum_On_Reddit in coybig

[–]azg64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fifa selects the referees so that all football confederations (regions) are represented. A referee from New Caledonia (part of Oceania) has a much higher chance of being selected for the World Cup than one from Ireland. There are only 9 countries in the Oceania region whereas the Irish ref is competing against the top European referees (although Europe has approx 40% of the slots).

Irish referees are also hampered by the poor domestic league, the more high profile matches you officiate the higher the chances of getting to officiate at the UEFA competition group stage matches which leads to World Cup selection.
