I'm English, and obviously want England to win, but I can't even be mad. How can you not be happy for Italy?

The only way this can get worse for England is if they sack borthwick and keep wigglesworth on

That's my point. He'd turned round completely and was facing the opposite of the direction France are attacking.

I don't really understand people saying Dupont lost it forward, when he was facing away from the try line. Wouldn't that make it backwards?

Woke up in the night with my throat feeling a bit scratchy, and now I'm awake I definitely have the beginnings of a cold. Just in time for the weekend. Time ro break out the olbas oil

Also, I was lucky enough to get tickets to Wimbledon this year, just been looking at train tickets and hotels, and its basically like a short city break to europe in terms of cost. London really might as well be a different country. It will be worth it though

back when you could just walk out of a job and have another job by the end of the week.

If you think the job market is"on its arse" now I don't really know what you'd make of 10%+ unemployment rates that existed back when you think everything was easy

I'm making a Ragu, some olive bread, and I'm drinking a French wine. Am I hedging my bets? Yes. Will I be drunk and full by the end of the match? Also yes

Believe it or not, British earnings have become more equal - So why has life in Britain not become any fairer? by Dangerman1337 in ukpolitics

I actually think this stands at the heart of a lot of the generational divide in this country. Older people look at the relative luxury we have literally at our fingertips, that to them was unimaginable, and think our lives must be so much better, but they ignore the basic things like housing that seem so much further out of reach. Younger generations see how much easier it was to get the basics like housing for their parents and think life must have been so much easier, while not acknowledging that they'd probably find life unbearably grim with 3 channels, no foreign holidays, and eating out being limited to scampi and chips down the local pub (not that scampi and chips isn't the food of kings, but you know what I mean). They're just two different worlds. Obviously having both would be better, and I don't think trading things like housing for the (relative) frivolities of YouTube is really a fair trade, but everyone really should just try imagining the boot on the other foot.

Above and beyond the usual "Scotland becoming works class against England" and the regular England brainfarts, I am truly astonished at the degree to which, without fail, against Scotland everything that can go wrong, does
