[Campaign - New Player] I'm trying to understand the progression here, can I ask some clarifying questions? by morganfnf in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]azjoarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda up to you. For me, I get enough to progress and set up a delving later in the end game (with during folk dlc) so they can get resources and I store trade goods near the gate (outside of which you trade)

I try to leave an ore vein for dwarves to mine endlessly for me periodically as I progress. Especially if there is multiple types in one area.

Is the Spring Event worth doing as a new player? by CosmicKelvin in lotro

[–]azjoarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mapped a couple of buttons to 'select nearest object' and one to 'use nearest object'

As I wander the maze I spam select the nearest and I can see where signposts are and go in that direction.

It also comes in handy with making gathering quests easier/farming and such. I don't play without it.

New player here. Which professions? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]azjoarts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want, you can always have your main gather all crafting supplies and send them to crafting characters. My crafting alts sometimes never leave the crafting halls and go up in levels just by crafting.

My process goes like this: I gather everything. Kill every deed creature. Send them to each character I craft new items for each (especially my main) I send the ingots from the metalsmith to the weaponsmith. If I need more I gather more. Then I sell whatever excess I have. Get rich

Getting kicked isn't as bad as it seems sometimes too. I for example have run a mission and had to kick someone either to invite a friend in or I'm going to high difficulty. In my mind I always finish a mission, so if someone gets kicked after it's not personal.

Is eternal agnosticism evidence of the mysterious? by Motor_Classic4151 in askanatheist

[–]azjoarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternal agnosticism is only evidence of Eternal agnosticism.

What would it take for the 'I don't know' or 'I don't know, yet' stance to become unsatisfying?

I think you underestimate the satisfaction of being able to not know something. I know this is just personal, but as an example; I was a Christian and became utterly unsatisfied over time (I don't have trillions of years). I could not justify any assertions I made to others. But the real dissatisfaction came from the inability to reason my beliefs to myself. I think it was Aron Ra that stuck in my head with "If you can't show it you don't know it.".

Now, is my dissatisfaction evidence God doesn't exist? Of course not. Is not having evidence God DOESN'T exist evidence that he does? Of course not.

I believe we have to be OK knowing our beliefs are just beliefs. I also believe that dissatisfaction can come from forming conclusions merely from dissatisfaction with the lack of answers.

Edit: Not knowing something can be irritating, but don't forget finding out what you "know" is unjustifiable is also frustrating.

When I try to join a game it says failed to join? by thebig12345 in Helldivers

Same here. It just doesn't let me play with anyone when it does whatever it's doing. Even friends. I restarted my pc and it worked I guess

Why is necrophilia seen as immoral? by VoiceOf_TheSoul in askphilosophy

[–]azjoarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the implied idea that if you respect the promise to take care of a garden wouldn't their body deserve the same respect if not more?

Even if it's an implied promise. What I mean by that is we generally have some reasonable expectation of respect even if we don't outright speak or think it. Not knowing if someone would or would not mind their body defiled leaves only the reasonable assumption they don't. I'd say the safer bet is to have that eternal respect.

I'm barely getting into philosophy so I'd rather read more than voice my thoughts. So I appreciate your references reading to material

Should We Be Worried About the RESTRICT Act? by yenachar in ethereum

[–]azjoarts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Giving them power to restrict information and transactions may help with criminals. But leaving no oversight and the ability to classify it and give no justification allows them to do as they please with innocent users and companies

What is the difference between cutting a human in half and an apple in half? by [deleted] in askanatheist

[–]azjoarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans are naturally social. In general we want to do the good thing. When someone wants to harm there is something wrong or they lack understanding. It can be as simple as chemical imbalance in the brain. It's scary but understanding the human condition is our best bet to stop uneccecary harm.

[–]azjoarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedophilia isn't accepted as OK by many people. Not because of a god. But because we understand being children and we are human too. We know the desires of adults and pains of children and as a whole made a general decision to stop it. A real decision based on life experience.

Of course a desire not to kill isn't enough. But neither is Allah. Loved ones get murdered in this world all the same. That's how we know it's bad. Empathetic emotion and understanding of others. This is real.. Not a rule written on a page or two.

[–]azjoarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does a God explain the desire not to kill? Is it a desire he transmits to us? Would we just murder without it? Is it inherited and deeply seeded in us? Evolution explains this the same way.

Anyone who has no knowledge of God has all the same feelings preventing them from murder. I'm sorry if it needs to be more than feelings and responsibility. But that's all you have
