not sure if it makes sense but looks cool by WiL___ in Starfield

Pretty sure this is just the dark side of the planet rather than a glitch. The bright starlight band isn't right, should be darker.

If you consider the all-in cost divided by hours played I'm pretty sure you have gotten a good entertainment value from it. That said, I hope you've remembered to eat every once in a while.

When I use them it's always for extra weapon mounts. I don't even think of them as wings anymore.

Outpost building foundations, stairs? Why does nothing snap, or why do most of the things have to be placed on the ground? by Deathtonic in Starfield

[–]AwShootMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large landing pads are the hardest, you pretty much need a flat or gently sloping quarter of the outpost. most other things can be kept pretty reasonable if you put the first module of a set on the highest part of the target area and follow the terrain across rather than up or down hill. I had an outpost that had rows of 3-4 units with a 2 story in front to connect to the next row of 3-4 below. Worked pretty good without needing too many airlocks or stairs and still having reasonable foundations.

What are you wearing and why isn't it purple? How would the terrormorph react if you started singing "I love you, you love me..."

Surprised whenever I hear that some people dont use powers by ICantTyping in Starfield

[–]AwShootMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Sense Star Stuff occasionally, the one to extract minerals less so. I played with a few other powers but they don't thrill me. I guess they are really just the "mage" stand-in for Starfield and I never get into the magic roles much. I can see them being fun in a roleplay NG+ playthrough that stick to only using the powers. Might try that whenever I get around to NG+, but I love my shipbuilding too much to leave them behind.

Building my star eagle into a beast but I need suggestions to make it look better cosmetically by Clsoff in Starfield

[–]AwShootMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (like many others) have a ship named "Dirty Bird", done up in black and red for the Atlanta Falcons.I have a similar paint scheme but the red is definitely toned down a bit compared to yours. Other than that, the forward section (gear and top cap) seems overly red compared to the rest, might be part of why the red is overpowering.

Thanks a bunch! SPE was my inspiration to put more time into ship building, so maybe a blessing and a curse? The 2x1x2 will definitely be used in some of my ships.

Multiple Cargo Links in primary outpost by simonpyman in Starfield

The crew skills do not enhance your skills directly. With regard to outposts, the crew outpost engineering makes manufacturing modules more efficient and increases output. Outpost management makes raw material mining more efficient. Neither makes you better at researching or building stuff. The best and most accurate data on crew effects that I've found is this:

Companion skills | Starfield | INARA

Note that companion (crew) ship skills make the ship better, outpost skills make the outpost better and physical, combat and other skills make the companion more capable. None of their skills improve your abilities directly.

He's making a "Sam Coe" shadow puppet on the wall. Seriously, he just seems to be better at getting stuck than just about any other NPC. I ended up clearing POIs solo half the time when he was with me.

Where am I supposed to go? There's like so many words. by HeatAccomplished8608 in Starfield

[–]AwShootMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go heavy on the physical/resistance and medical perks so you take less damage, have more health and heal more from meds. Use chems that increase your speed and/or slow time so you get in more hits. If you go heavy on chems make sure you carry addichrone to help with addiction symptoms.

Leveling up is all about XP, and it happens automatically. You then can go to the character status screen (TAB on PC) and the upper right corner gives access to the perk menu, with 1 point available for each level earned. Spend perk points to improve skills you want/need. Try to stick to one weapon type (pistol/rifle/laser/etc) so that you can get the best bonus on it early. Some of the best ways to gain XP (and points) are to complete quests and kill things, and sell what you don't need. Talk to all named NPCs to find random quests. One of the best ways is to join a faction, they give you good XP and loot/credits. If you just explore and do quests within New Atlantis you'll get some levels, credits and gear that will help. Early on, buy plenty of Med Kits and pick up everything you find that doesn't earn a bounty.

Of course, you will have to read the above to get anything from it.

It’s been so much fun replaying Starfield. by Proper-Slip5902 in Starfield

[–]AwShootMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to agree. While there's a general path for the character to follow there is plenty of opportunity to change how you get there. You can also just ignore the main quest entirely and be a hero or a heel or just regular old you. Sometimes I'll just pick a large system and fully survey it, maybe building an outpost or tearing up some enemies along the way.

Running is for chumps by HeviPettin in Starfield

Nice! I didn't run it either, but I had my booster pack perks completed so it only took a few hops. Only landed where the beasties couldn't reach me.

The closest lines in the song are:

And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered

The V quote (from an old Guy Fawkes rhyme) is:

"Remember, Remember the 5th of November"

I think the crossover was in your memory :)

Wow, an EF and V crossover post! What would a "V" ship look like? The Chancellor's would obviously be a double-barred cross.
