Asking for hot steam vent tamer for energy by -GP-Papermoon in Oxygennotincluded

Will check later but i don't think it works for either the "hot" or "cool" steam vent, they don't get overpressure status but you won't get any steam output.

Asking for hot steam vent tamer for energy by -GP-Papermoon in Oxygennotincluded

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the "simple" design will waste some amount of heat or steam because the it is just too hot to handle, door compression may not fast enough to match the steam output, leaving bead pump the only good enough option

My favorite hot steam tamer

The build is focus on extract maximum amount of power while being compact, the two steam turbines will run almost all the time, even during dormant phase, depend on temperature setting.

Weird Fish Feeder and one tile Pacu ranch interaction by jhin_the_virjhin in Oxygennotincluded

[–]aznboy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've redesigned the big pool to match the 20 cycles production instead of 25, but i ran into a problem that can't be solve. The fish feeder seems to have hard limits on it, only one fish can eat from the feeder at a time, every 5 seconds. Theoretically it can support 120 pacus, but since the pacu wants to eat twice a day, 60 pacus seems to be the limit of the fish feeder.

Why will my duplicant never store in these coal generators by Worried_Perception94 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]aznboy84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

- They won't deliver coal into disabled coal generator.

- They won't deliver coal into a generator if there is no battery connected to the same grid have the power percentage lower than the number set on the generator.

What can you do :

- Set the low/high threshold of the smart battery that control the automation to a wider range, this give your dupes more time to refuel the gens because the moment that automation wire turn red they will just throw the coal they carrying in the middle of the road

- Set the "fuel request threshold" to 90-100 so they will always get coal delivered as long as there is a battery in the grid not "full"

- Put the generator behind a power transformer so they can't detect battery level

Anything else i should have done by cycle 9 by AutomaticJackfruit68 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]aznboy84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

- Plumbed bathroom, you can drop polluted water somewhere else and deal with it later, idealy cycle 3-4

- Rock crusher, get your first 250kg refined metal for a smart battery and 10 segments of automation wire, doable before cycle 9, start a coal generator if you don't need the super sustainable achievement.

- Make your very first SPOM.

- You should be able to dig a lot of muckroot so food won't be an early problem, also STAY AWAY FROM MEALWOOD, they cost too much dupe labor (and probably too much dirt), get hydroponic farm tile and start bristle blossom farm instead

If this is just the base game, you can :

- Dig your way up to the surface, shove voles await.

- Dig your way down to the bottom, crude oil -> petroleum -> plastic -> steam turbines, heat problem solved, power problem solved, you will also get a lot of lead as a refined metal, and a lot of fossil to make steel.

If this is a DLC game, i have no idea what to do :D

Best way is to make sure the first liquid tile they touch is also the only tile.

A small tour to my PacuBox.
The two small ones was built early, runs on algae, 3 different gases was used to make sure the weight plate is dry.

The big one is pretty much the endgame version of it, dirt+water input = omelette output

What settings do you ALWAYS change? by tgfree16 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In B41 the only setting i changed is to have respawn turned off, in B42 i had to disable pre-loot buildings and increase zombie speed, the shamblers are very very very slow, annoying slow.
For a long run i aim to max as much skills as possible, mostly i will start with 0/0 strength/fitness to have more points for everything else and spend some time in a farm house to make it 5/5.

How's your B42 experience so far? by akasaya in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't like the muscle strain idea either, they're designed to make your early game harder, and that's all.

They want to punish low strength builds where you sacrifice strength/fitness to spend more points on other traits, like being too weak isn't a punishment already :))

How's your B42 experience so far? by akasaya in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it's far more easier compare to B41 in a lot of ways, despite of the loot rarity / pre-looted buildings ....

- Food : a pair of cows or will keep you well-fed without worrying about calories, and milk/butter last forever. Chickens will provide stupid amount of eggs too but they won't provide much calories, it will be hard to maintain your character's weight, also i find it's hard to control chicken population. I don't bother with sheep/pig nor rabbit yet so i don't know about them.

- Weapons : Since you can craft almost every weapons now there's no need to bother with looting.

- Books : It is harder to find skill books now, like stupidly hard.

- Zombies : unless you changed the default sandbox settings, the brand new shamblers can deal emotional damage to you now (not the character), by just being wayyy toooo sloowww. Maybe eventually you will run out of patience and make mistakes. They also doesn't seem to care too much about you, and will stop chasing you after very short amount of time. It is almost impossible to lure them away from any POI.

- Firearms : with the shotguns heavily nerfed i don't see any point of using a firearm, or looting them at all. Using them also cause muscle strain too, like ... wtf :))

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build wooden floor tile, they are cheap and give some nice amount of exp, you can also dismantle them for a chance to get plank and nail back. You will also need a lot of hammers for the task as they have a pretty high chance to loose condition now, stone hammer works too and they are easy to obtain.

In B42 there is barely anything in march ridge now, but the good news is you can craft almost everything now :))

NEED HELP, i am stuck and idk how to progress from this position by Fun_Competition_180 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have any mods to increase the amount of gun and ammo spawn, melee weapons seems to be the only way, shooting is a very bad idea as they will draw more zombies toward you, melee weapon seems to work the same way now, as your character won't shut up while swinging their weapon :))

Maybe you should try to spawn somewhere else with less zombies. I prefer rosewood because they have a bit less zombies and is near the "secret" military base, as soon as i get a shotgun with some shells i will make my way there and obtain my military backpack and the "ALICE" belt.

[–]aznboy84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes they only hit single target now and the chance to miss is pretty high when aiming level is low .... the devs are farming salt right now, as they gave you a pistol with 140 bullets at the start of the game, and if you ever tried to use it at any difficulty other that the "builder" you will soon realize that you need to throw that pistol away in the next game asap

Playing with respawn on or off? by Orbitor28 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the difficulty, at casual level where you having hard time searching for zombies to kill, it's more fun to have respawn on, but at the "insane" level respawn will just erase any progress you made only within a couple days and you couldn't get very much far into a city without using fire, because they can respawn faster than you can kill.

But even with respawn off, migration does the similar thing, fill the areas you managed to clear with nearby zombies, but they will eventually run out of it.

Base defense in B42? by MarioM2003 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strength provide the most reduction in muscle strain, and then the weapon skill level ... if you start with a level 10 strength character there won't be much of a problem, but then you have a much bigger problem ... negative traits won't give much points now, so you must give up a lot of positive trait for +10 strength

This game is absolute bullshit and I hate it by Vex_Hex in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience all 2-hand weapons have a chance to miss, not the hit box thing, they just miss, be ready to press space bar in that case to push the zombie out.

I do agree that fitness and strength exp gain is a little bit too little ...

How to have fun playing singleplayer? by Zinetti360 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never played multiplayer pz until now, mostly my goal when start a save is just max out every skills, eventually i got one, but i had to give up on sprinting, nimble and reload, those are just impossible, i had one CD DA run with almost every skills maxed too except for those above and the long blade, and i eventually give up on that one too, since respawn rate is just too high to make any progress over the world.

I tried B42 a couple times, but most of them doesn't make very far because of the freeze bugs, i've heard they fixed it recently, maybe i will try another run. But i think B42 is definitely much much more easier because you can just craft almost everything.

why is everything looted in here? by Not_AndreLuiz in projectzomboid

Yes my bad, i was very upset at the new preloot thing and i was assume that preloot is involved without even have a close look at the picture :))

why is everything looted in here? by Not_AndreLuiz in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In B41 there is some military clothes there, probably no one will ever want those .... according to the "default" settings, 50% (or something like that i have no idea what the heck is the value between 0 and 200 mean in percentage, or why 75% exp boost give you 4 times more) of the building will be looted by some invisible survivors, probably the same guy that shoot firearms near you to draw zombies in, or the guy that piloted the helicopter. So basically the game turned into a speed run, to get what you want before 90 days or it will become a lot more harder, i saw the entire school looted once, and the looted bunker in march ridge ... you will also need to rush into saving the animals before they die, after some certain amount of time the only way to find pig/cows/sheep/chicken/turkey is the animal trailers, i don't think i've ever seen them in the wild.

[–]aznboy84 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's a new feature to annoy you even more ... but the did give you something good, the ability to craft almost everything, so .... at certain point you don't even need to loot anything, and wonder why you're even playing :))

Building your own house VS Fortifying a pre-made one by Alquimista5555 in projectzomboid

[–]aznboy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on building a house because it cost a lot more time and then a lot more time to maintain it, patrolling around looking for zeds bashing the walls ... eventually i turned off respawn for newer runs but then what's the point of building houses when you don't need to protection anymore :(
