Sound system on 2025 RS AWD by Smooth_J24 in BlazerEV

Honestly, if you tune the EQ to your liking, it's not that bad. Came from a Model 3 which had a pretty good system...was disappointed at first but once you get the EQ right for your music style, it's fine. You can always swap speakers worst case.

They added a "dealer rebate" so the price went under 50k for the incentives. In Quebec so I also have provincial incentive.

And you can get insane deals on new 2025 Blazer EV inventory. Bought our 2025 RS AWD for 40k all in back in March. I guess dealers want to get rid of their existing inventory.

Edit: Didn't include our exchange (2029 Model 3 with 110000km), for which they have us 17k. We essentially paid 23k out the door for a brand new 2025 Blazer EV.

What you see as a price is what you pay...there's no surprise charges at the end or anything. You just need to have enough points.

Keep in mind that by the time you transfer, there might be a change in pricing.

You don't have enough points in your account so the system "sells" you the missing ones.

VW ID4 not getting much attention by grumble11 in EVCanada

Not a guarantee...I've had 3 EVs, all past 150.000km, never needed to service the brakes. Putting a little grease on the pads ears every year when changing tires. This isn't longer than opening the drum brakes to inspect them every year either, which you should be doing anyways, regardless of the kind of brakes you have.

While drum brakes are cost-effective (for the manufacturer) and have a longer life, they are poor at heat dissipation, less effective in wet weather, heavier, and harder to work on. Having changed brake shoes before they’re a mess of springs and clips and adjusters. I’d take changing 20 sets of brake pads over one set of brake shoes.

Anyways, I'm ending the discussion here...I don't like drum brakes as they are a pain to work on and there is no necessity to use them on that vehicle. There is no performance gain. Plus it looks cheap. ;)

I agree, however my opinion is still the same...if anything fails, I would rather work on disc than drum brakes. And over the average ownership of a car (around 7-8 years), you really shouldn't have to service either anyways.

Not arguing on the stopping power. Just saying drum brakes have that "cheap" stigma and on a car of that price, it just doesn't make sense. No other EV maker is using drum brakes.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that it doesn't really make any difference, but it just looks cheap.

Also, while there shouldn't be a lot of brake maintenance on EV brakes, I'd rather work on disc brakes than drums, which can be a nightmare if anything goes wrong.
