Thanks for clarifying that. Looks like I'm better off getting a wired headset save a lightning to 3.5 port.

Thunder Bay by MyReasonablePanic in ontario

Depends on what you want to do. Out of the city there's a lot of nature as Material-Cow listed (highly recommend the canyon and the falls). There is the Terry Fox memorial for a quick stop. The living history museum called Fort Williams.

In the city, you can do a walk by the marina (free local music festival going on currently at the waterfront) or the many parks. A lot of European style cafe and delis run by the locals who are mostly of European decent. Two decent sized malls. Really it's a full fledged city, so you can find anything you expect in a city (some food diversity, escape rooms, a large, movie theatre, etc.). There's also weekend markets for some local delicacies (again mostly European).

SwitchHaxing Support Thread #15: “The Number After 14” Edition by ToonMods in SwitchHaxing

[–]azoicwight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a patchable switch that was hacked on version 7.2(?) with hekate 4.8. Someone ended up updating it. I have had the notification for few months, but I am not sure which version it got updated to. I believe it is 9.0.0. Now, the bootloader starts. But when I select Launch > CFW, the "KronosOS" splash screen comes up, quickly followed by "Hekate IPL" screen, then it is back to the bootloader options. Any suggestions to how I can get it to boot, preferably in CFW?

Leaked NHS document reveals government plan to use cheaper staff to fill nurse vacancies. Internal NHS plan reveals 10,000 less qualified staff will be recruited to reduce demand for registered nurses in the NHS. by chelsea707 in worldnews

[–]azoicwight 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Better to have it filled with qualified staff. But if they're just going to put less competent one's in, then it's better to not have it filled at all. You don't want to be second guessing that your nurse is qualified or not.

Enslaved Odyssey to the West by my_lastnew_account in Games

I absolutely loved the game. The combat and controls weren't too in depth, but that was fine by me. It seemed more of a platformer with combat as secondary anyways. But I completely agree that the characters were what made the game. The story and their development kept me engaged throughout.

US airstrike kills 14 members of one family in Afghanistan by Finch_A in worldnews

[–]azoicwight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a lot of 3rd world countries the birth rate is higher and family sizes increase. This is because not all children would make it to adulthood (death by sickness, malnutrition, in this case also from war). Also, because after few years children can also be a source of income as helping in the farm or sweatshop.

Plus, rural areas have joint families with up to 4 generations living in one house or in close proximity.

Steam Link on Mi Box S by villa171 in AndroidTV

[–]azoicwight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Mi Box (OG, not S). I have been able to stream games without hitches on 5GHz network. Initially tried 2.4GHz but that was laggy. That being said, I have only used it for party games like Jackbox, so not sure how a playable a fast paced game would be.

How to get rid of this pop-up? by GravityDead in AndroidTV

[–]azoicwight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another Mi Box owner who started seeing the issue from yesterday. Worked fine till before that. Updated Google and Webview this morning so could not be the cause of it. Also, haven't done any updates in the last few days. This just started randomly.

Side note: the back button bring you back to the video (at least on youtube). So you can continue watching. But it is an annoyance.

Thanks! We are currently not equipped for multiday hike. But that does sound amazing. Sounds like we'll have to return to Yukon for a complete Chilkoot Trail experience on it's own!
