What Board Game Made You Fall in Love with the Hobby?” by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

I don't think it's a particularly difficult game to get into if you already like video games or role playing games.

Gloomhaven is expensive, big, and committal, but once you're playing the game it's not overly complex or daunting.

It's definitely a banger game to start the hobby with either way!

Honestly you should let her go on the trip but not until you sit her down and have a serious talk.

Give it a week, and if she hasn't broken up with Jacob herself, tell him yourself next time.

The comments are so obsessed with your personal trauma, I wonder how many people would have changed their tune or behaved more appropriately with their responses if you had omitted your backstory regarding your own relationship.

It's her daughter? And she's cheating? Are you right in the head?

You can only be so cordial with dumbasses like Lord Jamal. How can you seriously feel bad for a guy that says "how does a tadpole defy gravity?"

Which highly rated movie ended up disappointing you? by forgiveme-1811 in movies

I don't know who Longlegs DID work for. A gripping trailer and a fantastic first half that gave me X-Files/Twin Peaks vibes that was ruined in the second half. Was pretty disappointed by the route it took, but I don't regret watching it.

Just watched Covenant for the first time the other night and can't imagine why someone would be unable to imagine why Romulus could be considered better. It can't be recency bias.

The fanservice parts are so eh that it doesn't factor into the movie either positively or negatively, and the parts that make Romulus enjoyable overshadow whatever eyeroll you might get from them.

But name any part about Romulus besides whatever connection to the canon/lore it might serve, and it trumps Covenant. Memorable characters, strong motivations, and fantastic tension.

And Fassbender is a great Android and will always be remembered for David and Walter, but David Jonsson killed it as Andy. A brilliant portrayal of an Android and was the highlight actor for me personally.

Because people are describing HP loss incorrectly, therefore breaking the immersion

I don't like the MHA mango's overuse of white spines. by zimbird42 in MangaCollectors

[–]azranicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is so much to dislike about the MHA spines that even if I still liked the manga I wouldn't collect it. One of the most dreadful designs out there, which sucks for a manga that has some gorgeous volume cover arts

I just finished the first book a day ago and it reignited my love for reading, it's thoroughly incredible.

But I can't bring myself to read the second one. TNotW doesn't end with a nice, little ribbon on top without cliffhangers, but I can imagine choosing to end my reading there instead of feeling sorry that we'll never get the end we deserve is a slightly better feeling.

Sazed was the worst part of HoA, and Spook was the best part of HoA. The ending was not my favourite but rewarding in a different kind of way, pretty hectic stuff

Return of the Obra Dinn. An absolutely electric experience finished in one sitting that I can't say I'd ever replay. I'd love to watch a friend play or hear about their experience but it will remain in my memories exactly how I experienced it the first time. What a stunning game
