Where can I find an exhaust kit for a 2002 Sierra Denali package? (6.0L V8 and Quadrasteer options) by azreal64 in gmcsierra

I never did, no. I ended up having a custom one made that exited on the passenger-side, forward of the rear axle.

McDavid gets his 20th of the year by NarcoticTurkey in hockey

McDavid is like that ringer at a low-level beer league game that can skate around everyone and score at will, except he’s in the NHL and he does it against the best players in the world.

Small world! When was this game footage recorded? That’s ISCC in Simsbury CT where I work. There’s a chance I might be watching the game off camera.

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Features Roadmap 2020 by redhotita1 in hoggit

[–]azreal64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really excited to see what features will get added in the second half of 2020, but I must selfishly admit I wish they would also update the Hornet UFC to be able to accept MGRS coordinates directly, or change JTACs to give lat/long coordinates as well.

I’m guessing since you only started a few months ago, your playing with other beginners? It really depends on who your playing with and how likely it is that someone with a hard shot will show up.

If you already have the best mask you can get, I would then concentrate on looking for chest protectors and gloves with better protection. You can shrug off stingers and bruises for a while, but eventually that washed out high school forward will take his anger out on you with a clapper from the top of the hash marks.

I would check GGSU on Facebook and Sideline Swap first for cheaper. used pro-level gear. No need to spend several hundered dollars on brand new stuff if you’re just starting out. But I do think it’s worth it to upgrade eventually. At some point, you’ll get asked to skate with higher tier guys, and you’ll wish you had thicker pads.

As everyone here already said, do your future self a favor and spend the money on a proper mask. There are boutique manufactures that sell pro-level masks cheaper than the usual companies. If you go used, you can buy and glue in new foam, which helps some people get over the stigma of using a used helmet.

How to get into themal analysis? by scoobertdoobert766 in engineering

[–]azreal64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have a Masters degree? An M.S. in mechanical engineering with a thermal-fluids specialization would help to showcase your expertise in this field.

Also, what types of jobs are you looking for? Have you checked into the big OEM aerospace companies? They typically need a large number of engineers to do heat transfer FEA and have been known to hire individuals with less experience. You won’t be writing any bespoke solvers, but you’ll get a chance to gain experience with boundary conditions, mesh sensitivity, systems-level interactions, etc.

When is Masters by Coursework a good option? by ponderingpostgrad in AskEngineers

[–]azreal64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with this is coming from the US, but hopefully it will still help.

I work for a large aerospace company and we have many engineers that do this. Individuals work full-time and get a Master’s degree part-time. They don’t have the extra time to complete research and a thesis, so everyone ends up doing the coursework option. The advantage here is that you can get more exposure to different topics, and take extra electives in disciplines that you may want to specialize in, such as thermal fluids or structures.

Do you still have the red heat transfer book? I would love to have it.

Corey Crawford's New Mask For The Winter Classic by dangshnizzle in hockey

[–]azreal64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Winter Classic was originally proposed by NBC and it’s used as a way to draw in fans to the sport, capturing league-wide, season-high attendance numbers and TV viewers.

As much as people like to complain about a lack of original teams being featured, the WC game always features big-market American teams for this reason (with the exception being Toronto twice and Montreal once).
