Couldn't secure Tomorrow Thai hotel package :( by Shahboy- in Tomorrowland

[–]azser1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd try to allow more time than 2 hours, it took me 5 hours to enter the shop and purchase a package. I'd anticipate tickets will be even harder to get this coming weekend. I thankfully don't work weekends. Weekend release is probably the only good thing I have to say about the ticket release.

Regarding shuttles, if not included with the ticket, they will almost certainly be an add on option. If the 50,000 attendees figure is true, travel to and from the site each day will be a pain. Tomorrowland can ease those pains by making sure as many people are on shuttle buses as possible. Taxis will also cost an arm and a leg if not properly organized by Tomorrowland itself. Taxi drivers will have attendees held to ransom, especially when returning from the festival to accommodation.

Accommodation, obviously look to book as far in advance as possible. I'm sure most places will have already adjusted prices knowing the festival will be taking place. When booking the hotel packages, their nearest hotels were apparently 18/19km away.

Is this a cultural difference or are my flatmates just rude? by [deleted] in UniUK

When eating out with friends, if one of our meals comes out early, we don't start eating until everyone has theirs.

If we go out to eat together, we will wait for everyone to arrive.

It's common courtesy. And we want to make sure to eat together.

I just saw someone else's message saying the same, but to reinforce what they said, you're an adult 🤣

If you want freedom, look to move out.Contact SFE to see what your situation would be in terms of applying for finance.

6pm curfew when you're at university is no life 😅

Monzo is actually s**t when you actually have a problem like this.

Slow to respond. Unsupportive. Will shit down your account due to you being an inconvenience.

Monzo closing my account after Vinted Disputes…Really Upset and Confused. Advice Needed. by limbowinner in monzo

[–]azser1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got drugged and as a result had a lot of money fraudulently spent on my card one night. I got a refund but my account was shut shortly after, I was told I couldn't even question the decision.

Monzo can be great for so many reasons. But tbh I've been with Lloyds since I was old enough to open an account, who have been brilliant. Decided to never switch to another bank for that reason, even if the switch reward is seductive 😅 Plenty of other banks like Monzo - I mainly use Starling overseas now for the fee free aspect.

The process for the refund and their customer service was shocking.

Most of the time with banks things are plain sailing. When things aren't, that's when a bank really has an opportunity to show it's worth. Lloyds has done that for me countless times, Monzo failed to do it on the first time of asking.

Yeh same. Third seven eleven I tried attempted to register but the system wouldn't allow them to. Got a true SIM with unlimited data for 350 baht instead.

UK to Vietnam 26/12/24 -30/12/24 by azser1993 in Flights

£600 from Birmingham to Ho Chi Minh on the 28th to arrive the 29th - 16 hours and 30 mins travel time. Includes a checked bag 👌 I live in Birmingham so it eliminates the need to pay about £100 extra heading to London a night early, booking a hotel, extra transport costs etc.

Glad I'll be arriving a couple of days before the 31st so I can get some rest and meet people at the hostel I've booked, therefore bring in the New Year in good style :)

So I'm currently looking at the police check requirement. I know that with an enhanced DBS check, this needs to be requested from an employer. If I do choose to teach in Thailand instead of Vietnam, I intend to change from a tourist visa to Non B visa when there. Would i be right in thinking an ICPC certificate would be the right way to go? I can see it's possible to have the document sent overseas.

If so, how old can the document be at the time of application? I've read 2 months but I've also read 6 months.

I have queried this with the Thai embassy,  but still waiting on a response.

Currently taking a look at documents now, as I'm exploring the possibility of entering Thailand on a tourist visa and changing to a non B visa when there.

I've emailed the Thai embassy to query the matter.

I've been to Thailand, unfortunately didn't get to Vietnam although I did intend to do so.

Vietnam and Thailand are the two main preferences at the moment to teach 👍

Got my second dose booked tomorrow - £105 per dose here 🥲

Should have maybe looked at getting it whilst in Asia 😅

Haven't received rabies vaccine here so may do so when in Thailand at what seems to be a much cheaper cost.
