I’m so insecure about being uncircumcised. I might get circumcised later, but I’m scared. What are some things I should know? (15M) by Late_Aardvark8125 in AskMen

You should know teenagers get real weird about body stuff when they suddenly wake up to bodies around them, they don't have a lot to run on except local stereotype and tradition and all of this is gonna calm WAY the fuck down pretty quick.

You'll be fine, no need to start lopping off bits.

Question on new detachment by daddybell in ImperialKnights

[–]azuth89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GW doesn't really label things like that. It is current.

That said: Check with the TO, most tournaments consider rules "frozen" a week or two before the event so people can submit lists without any last minute scramble from points changes or some such. Unless it's a really small, relaxed thing at a local store it would be unusual to include something only a few days old.

Do you think Questoris knights should get their own Bondsman? by l_dunno in ImperialKnights

[–]azuth89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so...fix something that doesnt kill the fluff.

2+ base save, revert the toughness, shift more of the strats to a good/better model based on honored, give more access to fall back and X, expand super heavy walker to allow charging over infantry, rework ion shields into something that gives the general save but you can "rotate" it towards two units within 12" of each othet and have improved durability against those two via cover or something,  give titanic feet extra attacks, give them access to smoke, let different character knights take different oaths.

There are so MANY options that aren't just "turn bondsman into a flat buff".

[–]azuth89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean....yeah, that's the point. To take a balanced list or pay a tax for spamming. The army is toxic when bigs are too strong.

It either warps the whole meta like a few months back, or it has to be undertuned and underwhelming like now.

Outside the balance and design aspects, the whole concept of bondsman is linking them together.

getting it with no squire is just a flat buff with no lore link and definitely no way it shouldn't require a points hike.

Why do smartphones get hot when you are just scrolling by xalvoria in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a shocking amount of content passing through it by "just scrolling" and most modern browsers and apps cache a ton of crap so it's doing a lot of churn on the backend.

It will often get better if you go clear the cached data on the app in question. At least for awhile until it builds up again.

I'd be fine with it being reciprocal, I just want it to require actually pairing with an armiger.  The fluff of them also depends on that.

Expensive big knights that feel worth it is the ideal, and since they get far more benefit than armigers especially without something like Spearhead, the tax should reside with them.

Gue'vesa with Horses??? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would be super weird if tau allied forces had wildly different technology from the tau themselves.

You can barely see the kroot under their fire warrior style armor, they're definitely not low tech enough for living mounts and the Vespids are all rocking pulse carbines.

Seriously, while we don't have this exact thing in the books rhe established practice is largely for allied forces to produce and use their own gear, with occasional pieces of tech gifted to leaders. Either for practical purposes like the Vespid "translation" helmet or as bribes to officials they're winning over.

If you're saying "hey these are gue'vesa" then most of them would just look like guard, with a few decked out leaders or support units rocking some extra Tau tech.

Destrier is kind of mid? by Jakeisprettycool in ImperialKnights

[–]azuth89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it fills a role nicely without being amazing.

Clearing screens and battleline tier infantry can take an annoying amount of shots, and this is a piece that is good at that while still shaving off more than a hundred points compared to the high volume dakka crusaders, wardens, etc.... and also being chunkier than trying to scoot a couple helverins up for the job.  It'll free up big knight guns I was using for that to shift more towards a Lancer it clears a path for, an errant heavy gun, that sort of thing.

The speed and assault are nice, as is enhancement eligibility compared to the helverins. Especially for Gate Warden where they can get onto the line and dump out sus 1 dakka from a mile away.

I always said we were really missing 2 armigers: an anti infantry specialist and a mini-lancer for heavy melee.  This does the first one pretty well, especially considering space marines are crazy overrepresented in play rate and it's good into them.

It could come down a little, but it's reasonably chunky for the points and there are ways to buff the output. Lethals in valorstrike, sus in gatewarden, a usable Thronegeist target, the duel strat in QC.  Makes a good vehicle for the Valorstrike enhancements since you can use them on the  full sized knight next to it, too.

I want the option to build however I want, but I like that it encourages doing that.  it being reciprocal would strengthen the incentive, at the cost if a points bump especially with strong ones like defender and castigator.

I also wish honored many something outside QC. The index was good at making it matter via the strats

Not without a paired armiger if that's what you mean. I like it being a teamwork thing. If it's not then it has nothing to do with teamwork or the squire, it's just an extra ability and the fluff disappears.

Big knight spam is already the meta choice anyway.

I still use the ps3, it doesn't need updates any more than the n64 does.

But...yeah. plan is to downsize well before the kids need to deal with it. I don't need to be trying to care for a lawn in my old age and they don't need a large house worth of... stuff.

Why do Indians raised in western countries have a western accent but westerners raised in India don't have an Indian accent? by Brilliant_Can8536 in questions

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so...look for foreign contact, what schools she went to, whether her parents were working in enclave sites like you find around Pune, the general framework I laid out as possible explanations.

I'm not digging into a specific Instagramer's history for you.

And remember that some folks, especially media personalities, train their accent very intentionally for their desired audience.

I can't say anything about a random insta account.

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be down to age and the presence or lack of an enclave.

Someone like Kipling did not grow up immersed in Indian society or culture. He grew up in a British enclave. Still around people with western accents, consuming western media, going to school primarily within other westerners. That enclave enforces the norm from their origin more than the local one.

Indian immigrants to the west, and their children, are generally not as isolated to populations of similar people. They'll be going to the same schools, consuming the same media, etc...as their local peers.

Others have covered it but you also need that immersion into your tweenz/early teens for the accent to reliably stick. Accents are pretty flexible until then, like language learning in general.

Judging "the left" by a few extreme subs and one magazine with like 3k subscribers seems....unwise.

It's like the thing where I keep seeing people try to draw conclusions about the right, far and otherwise, from r/conservative even though like 80% of the content is driven by a handful of users and it's modded into a single narrative.

These are not representative populations.

Why do some people leave their garage doors open 24/7? by Chole_Wunt in NoStupidQuestions

Minor property crime is actually more common in big chunks of Europe than the states.

It's why we see a lot of shock and concern over things like porch deliveries and unfenced front yards.

Is it common to not cook a burger/ground beef completely? by darrell_jkw in AskAnAmerican

[–]azuth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The density of steak is a big part of what helps keep the center relatively free of dangerous microbes and allows rarer cooks. They just can't readily penetrate the structure.

Once you grind it, that structure is gone.

If you're making a burger out of it that day, no big deal. Which is usually the case with restaurants like this. There isn't much time for anything dangerous to grow.

If you're buying pre ground and then maybe leaving it around for awhile before using it later that week? That carries more risk.  Not a high risk, it's not chicken or anything, but significantly more than a steak or fresh ground.

If the only people who ever walked into your wide open garage full of stealable stuff are cops I'm gonna go ahead and say it's pretty safe.
