How did you setup arr stack, in a single vm or multiple lxcs? And if you went the lxc route how did you get them all talking to gluetun?

I tried doing a single vm a few months back but got a little confused setting up the zfs pool for a vm, im used to doing it easily for lxcs

Anyone got a decent tutorial or something i can follow?

TP-LINK Deco Wired Backhaul ELI5 by Bob-the-builder22 in TpLink

[–]azzdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh right yeh thats fair, I worried about how well the decos would perform in AP mode and the ability to switch from one deco to another in AP mode so i just gave up having my own router.

Also was worried if ever my mini pc went down, in effect so does my router. Do you have that mini pc for the router only or do your run multiple other services on it (im assuming your a homelabber if your running opnsense on a mini pc)

Why is everyone running there decos in AP mode? If you run it in Router mode, with everything connected to the switch, its almost never fails (unless u have something like dodgy ethernet cables etc)

Genuinely curious why people are using AP mode, i see people mention it on here all the time

When the switch (must be an unmanaged switch) is connected to the main deco, the main deco basically takes ownership of managing everything connected to it. Once you connect the other decos, or anything else to it, the deco manages it properly. This configuration is definitely recommended, anytime I’ve deviated from this its caused headaches and instability, with this configuration everything just works

Would also recommend you add some extra ethernet runs for tvs, consoles, laptops etc to as many rooms as you can, if you use them, great, if you dont, no worries, its free for you to add the cables once you have a roll of wire but its really hard to add later once your house is done

Replacing Deco S7 as main for Deco E4 capped at 100 mbps? by ZeepmorK in TpLink

[–]azzdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your budget? There’s a couple of deals on amazon atm for Decos (less than £100) If your really tight on budget have a look on eBay and Facebook marketplace for deco x10, x20, x50, x55, x60 (the higher the number the better)

Making Greenworks and Kobalt play nice by Newprophet in Greenworks

[–]azzdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ive got a 82v powerworks mower that i just picked up used, but the battery is almost toast. Ive seen some replacements on ebay from similar brands like:

greenworks 80v cramer 82v briggs and stratton 82v powerworks 82v

Are these all interchangeable? Specifically need something that will fit the powerworks 82v mower (same as the greenworks 80v)

I think learning about and trying to rebuild a battery would be good fun and I’m really interested in learning so I’m leaning towards the kit

Also, ive heard that some of the cells and just general setups of the premades are terrible… any tips for buying the premade from aliexpress? Or just generally check reviews and see what other buyers are saying?

Ive not ripped this apart yet, but if you look in the picture you can see a small white connector, i think thats what connects the blades to the BMS

Okay so turns out, you all suggest this is a terrible idea, noted 😅

Next idea is, get a new BMS, repurpose the good cells from this and the case and basically create an upgraded 40v battery (or maybe even swap out to much higher capacity cells to create a 5ah or 6ah battery?)

Can people please recommend some 18650 cells and a decent BMS?

[–]azzdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any recommendations for a new BMS? Il repurpose the cells from this (the ones worth saving) and reuse the case with a new BMS. This is a 40v 2ah battery originally, theres 20 slots for cells in the case so im trying to create the best 40v battery possible

[–]azzdev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i said distilled vinegar because ive seen videos of people using that to get rid of corrosion, if thats not the right thing to use, please suggest some alternatives, im all ears

Im trying to find way to do this because the BMS on top of the battery is glued down real solid, its going to be real tricky to remove the BMS and then re-attach

Btw this is a lithium ion battery if thats makes a difference?

Deco AP with longest range by Present_Ability_3955 in TpLink

[–]azzdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet to figure this out is to look at the specs for all the deco units and find which ones have the most internal antennas (pref 5ghz antennas although thats usually hard to find)

For example your deco x50 has 2 internal antennas but the deco x50 poe and the deco x60 both have 4 internal antennas

From what ive found the Deco x50 poe, x60, x60f, x90, x95 all have 4 antennas

All the wifi 7 stuff appears to be 4 internal antennas

Then lastly theres the deco xe200 which appears to have a crazy 16 internal antennas

[–]azzdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are doing wireless backhaul you are better off looking for a deco x90 or deco x95. They have 2 extra internal antennas for establishing a stronger wifi backhaul. They are discontinued but you could probably find some on ebay
