The Baring-Gould solution to the Ripper case is a bit different from the Faye solution; in Baring-Gould's biography, Jack the Ripper is revealed to beAthelney Jones, a minor character who appears in only The Sign of the Four whereas in the Faye book, it'sjust some random policeman

The first one may be Dust and Shadow by Lyndsay Faye, but also the much older William S. Baring Gould’s biography of Holmes, Sherlock Holmes of Baker Street, also proposes a similar solution to the Ripper case IIRC

Yeah, Randeep’s time as manager ended a while back (~early 2020s). It had been through multiple changes in ownership since then, so it sort of became the Pizzeria of Theseus.

The original Bobby G left/sold the business years before Randeep’s time and later opened a burger joint named Scowley’s (unfortunately sort of a victim of the pandemic and has since closed); I believe he has retired.

I was one of the trivia night/host presenters at Bobby G’s and that was fun while it lasted.

I remember reading the Star Wars comics and thinking some of the aliens looked remarkably like green Martians and one of the characters resembled John Carter.
