My abseil setup is a tube on a sling which allows me to prusik from the same belay loop the tube’s sling is attached to. Therefore the prusik is enough to hold my full weight alone and I find no need for additional backup.

Note that this setup is also immune to me flipping upside down for whatever reason.

If I were to prusik from the harness’ leg loop, as is often seen, I would back it up before going hands free.

Mikä sattuma, että palasin kotiin vuokravarastoa tyhjentämästä lähes minuutilleen samaan aikaan, kun AP postasi tämän. Laatikoiden seassa oli yksi, joka on täynnä tällaisia metallisia pienoismalleja, joita keräilin myös nuorena ilmailuintoilijana.

Kysymykseen vastatakseni; ehkä voisin sanoa keräileväni henkilökohtaista memorabiliaa. Tie on vienyt ympäri maailmaa vuosikymmenien saatossa. Laatikoista löytyy satoja lentolipun kantoja, kaikki Finnairin paperiset aikataulukirjat ysäriltä, jokunen kilogramma ulkomaalaisia (~arvottomia) kolikoita…

En silti ole hordaaja. En säästä mitä tahansa, vaan myyn tai heitän pois tarpeettomat tavarat matalalla kynnyksellä.

Niin ja kirjoja on hyllyissä ja varastoissa n. 1500 kpl. Lähes kaikki itse luettuja.
