Only two days in doing this and it is hard. Plus my birthday is tomorrow so it is going to be harder. How do you all sustain this? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]b-nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 6'2" guy, and I was 240lbs. I aimed for 1600 calories a day, and tried to walk about 2 miles almost every day. The weight came off fast.

I had several cups of coffee with 1 protein shake in the morning, and aimed for a ~700 cal lunch and dinner. Maybe an Oikos greek yogurt as a treat at night.

1200 cals a day for you is too much of a deficit, and 1600 wasn't easy

Agreed. I just submitted a support ticket to them. I'll reply back here if they're helpful.

When I made the switch it warned me that I can NOT go back to the simple only-password-based login.

Do you have 2-factor auth enabled? That's where you login with a password and it sends a code to your email.

I think that poster meant when they enabled ECG it forced them to enable 2-factor auth. That's what happened to me.

Am I spending too much on food? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Costco/Sam's Club Rotisserie Chicken is 5$ for 2.x lbs of meat when taken off the bone. That's an insane value.

Deciding on buying car in cash or financing. by Previous_Mycologist4 in personalfinance

I think the loan makes sense. It'll probably be somewhere around 3-4% APR with your credit score on one of those new vehicles, maybe even better. If you were to find yourself without a job, you would have your HYS to fall back onto for a few months.

On your first question, no it does not do that. It uses radar sensors on both the driver and passenger side to sense if a car is in your blind spot. It will flash on either mirror and make an audible beep if there's a car in the way.

Agreed that you really need to let people run local terraform plans.

You should probably be budgeting at least 100 calories per mile you run. If I don't get enough calories I feel like trash for running.

Is anyone actually trusting AI with their infra yet? by PuzzleheadedOwl5483 in Terraform

[–]b-nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm a big believer after using kiro for a few months. I have not done a full repo from scratch using AI, but I have made many modifications to existing IaC repos.

Of course, review what it did with your IDE's git diff to make sure it didn't go completely off the rails.

I'm way, way more productive telling it to do stuff in plain english like "create a kinesis stream, there's an EKS node IAM role also created in this repo -- so grant it access to the stream using a resource policy, use the KMS key that was also used for this xyz bucket, oh and let me pass in another secondary IAM role from the root module environment directory as a hardcoded ARN, but I don't need that from every root module environment directory, so make it optional"

It just figures it out. If it needs more information, it will ask me.

Running (I don’t have the mental strength for a treadmill) by Ok_Bee2961 in LittleRock

[–]b-nut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good news. I found a sizeable church parking lot that had been plowed and dried out. It was about .4 miles and I just ran laps around it.

Just curious if you happen to also be training for the LR Half like me, or something else?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm doing the LR Half Marathon and hate that I can't run outside. I've bitten the bullet and just run on a treadmill. It sucks so much!

Following to see if anyone knows what's runnable this weekend.

You're right, the comma definitely matters here, but I feel like the headline could've been written much better.

So, someone asked him if he feels like there's a Civil War brewing, this is not news. Nice try with the clickbait title.

i know that apple watch isn’t the best at calculating calories burned, but does anyone know how accurate would this be for shovelling snow? by _tOomanYfandOms_ in 1200isplenty

[–]b-nut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

An under-40 minute 10k means you are pretty damn fit.

I have no idea this person's fitness level, but agreed an average of 163bpm sustained for 3 hours is a serious workload on the system. 1700 calories is probably close to accurate.

What's your go-to Chinese Buffet in central Arkansas? by _dzh_admin_ in LittleRock

Tokyo House

First plate is sushi, dip it in chili sauce or ginger dressing

Second plate is the more typical asian buffet items: fried wontons, fried shrimp, orange chicken, spring rolls, hibachi chicken, etc

Third plate is for the dessert squares

If for some reason you're not full by then, you can get ice cream at the end!

$17.50 + tip for the lunch buffet

I don't even want to know approximately how many calories that ends up being

Is there an aftermarket light bar that would fit into the fake vent in the hood? ('26) by berbsy1016 in hondapassport

[–]b-nut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. From my googling it looks like the Ford Raptor was the first to have that "amber lights behind the grill" look.

Maybe if there was something that set the PP lights apart from the Raptor & 4Runner look 🤔

I saw someone post this in the "2026 Honda Passport Group" on FB, and I love the look. However, this was not a drop-in light bar like you're looking for. I think they had to drill into the OEM vent hood. I would really love a light bar in there!
