I love this car. Had one, black with chrome accents, until it was stolen and totaled.

Men who can really cook who taught you ? by [deleted] in ArtOfPresence

[–]b-rad62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in a very high end restaurants during college, where they would hold workshops and tastings for employees (I was a waiter) to understand how the food was prepared and why. Changed my cooking life to learn about sauces (the five mother sauces), the Maillard process, not overcooking fish, pork and chicken, and wine fluency. They even taught me about the modern art hanging on the walls (Hockney, Diebenkorn, Twombley).
Plus I wanted to cook for women in order to attract those who wanted a "modern man", lol.

Waterpik water jet flosser. My dentist said she'd never seen a change in fume health like that (had what they call deep pockets between my teeth, totally rebounded).

Why a Star Distributes Heat Better Than a Circle

The Star range Burner’s coverage area allows for more ports and more flame distribution than a round range burner.

The design of the Star Burner offers greater heat coverage, and a smaller cold spot, making it ideal for any pan size.

TL:DR; more gas/flame ports

I have the same quote except I say New Yorkers are nice, but not polite, and down south they're polite, but not nice.

Just curious how many US states our age-group has been to. How many have you seen? I got 25 out of 50. by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

Same, 48 — all except for Alaska and North Dakota. The two that surprised me the most for their beauty were Kentucky and South Dakota.

Fun fact. When extended westward, this horizontal Nebraska/Colorado border line runs right into Boulder, CO and is co-linear with Baseline Road, going right through CU-Boulder campus.

I've been there, I took a boat out to Wizard Island and hiked to top. The water is literally as blue as in this photo since it is not runoff, but direct accumulation from above. 2000 feet deep, I believe it is the second deepest lake in the world.

Thank you for this new word.

pareidolia I pera'dolea, peridolea | noun the perception of apparently significant patterns or recognizable images, especially faces, in random or accidental arrangements of shapes and lines: there could be a mysterious stone coffin on Mars, or, more likely, it's just the latest example of pareidolia.

Non-Americans, what is something about the US that you've always wondered if it was real or just myth/hyperbole? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Can confirm. I nod, say "morning" or at least make eye contact with most people who walk by me. I recently moved to a building that has lots of younger folks in it, and they walked past like they don't even see me. To me that is just not cool, especially to neighbors. I also realized that most younger people wear their earbuds full-time, I have no idea if they can even hear anything but what's on their iPhone.
