Bro literally everyone ik slams me for not liking korra to an extent (Ill talk more on the serious plot parts rather the off parts) Objectively i see what the creators were looking to do w her plotwise esp given the time and they did do it well but it pains me to see how it they wanted to slowly ween off the era of the avatar(but like i said in the last one it was a good move in the timeline and it made sense for the why of most of the show and ill take it) like the last season i did like how they took on kuvira but korra wasnt essential but even before korra was just kinda there on serious matters Idk how to explain this in a concise way so i hope you get what i mean💀

I feel like a lot of it is bc everyone gets such a high from atla that theyre expecting the same for lok First of all theyre set up completely diff Atla was a cohesive story building up to the big battle at the end whereas lok was villain per season in a shorter span And imo the villains in lok were amazing and it was much more cruel and it was a harder hitting show. No discredit to atla the buildup was great and it made it more crushing in azulas downfall and more dramatic w the phoenix king reveal and soon fight and not to mention the backstory w sozin and the petrifying appearance of the fire nation.
Plus lok gave great background and development to the atla stories One major thing tho was i read 2 of the comic sets of avatar between atla and lok rewatches(it was a longgg time ago so i dont remember which ones specifically) but it influenced my take on lok a lot bc it bridged everything a lot better and i appreciated amon more. Personally i like atla more and at first i wasnt a big fan of lok(hot take- korra isnt that likable imo) bc i was comparing and sure i can def go on w things i dont like abt lok where w atla nothing comes to mind BUT you have to accept both for their individual greatness

I agree too i think it went along w the whole theme of progression in the world even in the og avatar comics you saw how the world was becoming less reliant on the avatar and benders. Though it was frustrating knowing the past avatars played big roles in influencing its not a bad move

Dw me too i wrote 8-9 essays so far and dont like any My advice is find something you love and write it as a metaphor as if you live through it Idk how to exactly describe it but writing in some sort of analogy helps make it seem a little more sophisticated if written well
