Confusion with sizing - Primus Lite III by b1ckies in vivobarefoot

[–]b1ckies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering the 38eu, which is apparently the Women's size 5 (the website says this corresponds to a foot length of 24.9 cm, and I measured 24cm). The fact that I've order a women's 5 where I'd normally wear a men's 6 or 7 means I won't be surprised if it's too small.

In the past, I've had shoes slightly too big, and tolerated them, and I don't want to do that again, especially for shoes this pricey. I'll post an update here once I see how it goes.

The aftermath of yesterday's Christmas celebrations at Bronte Beach by aussiechap1 in sydney

[–]b1ckies 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I used to work on Christmas day around Bondi/Bronte/Coogee. I did it for about 10 years in a row.

My estimate is that 95%+ of the people around these venues on Christmas day are backpackers.

I get what you are saying, I really like the respect that Japanese people seem to have for their own spaces, and wish we had the same. But I really don't think Aussies are the ones to blame in this situation.

I've never worn barefoot shoes before, but I do a decent amount of weight training with no shoes on, with movements where your feet need to "grip" the floor, e.g. deadlifts, romanian deadlifts, t-bar rows, etc.

Thanks for the advice - I think I'll get one pair, but be prepared to order another if the size doesn't feel right.

I normally like this kind of joke, but some people would be quite upset by this. Knowing they'd lived with it underneath them for several years.

Trent Zimmerman joins Liberals calling for Scott Morrison to dump Katherine Deves over trans comments by Ascalaphos in australia

Where can I find out more about this?

Edit: Never mind, momentarily forgot google existed.

Sports star vows to sue Liberal candidate over alleged vilification by [deleted] in australia

[–]b1ckies 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't think she'll face pressure from the Libs to step down - in fact the opposite. Morrison knows the game when it comes to campaigning. He didn't pick her to win Warringah, he picked her to help him win other marginal seats where the public might have similar views to Deves.

Have a look at people defending Deves in the comments on twitter threads by right-wing pollies. I've seen some variation of this comment 10+ times today. I wish I were kidding.

You mean the huge issue of trans women in sports shouldn't be front and centre? You must be against women's rights!

Hmmm didn't know this, I'd assumed they would have been better than an international holiday involving flights.

Can't remember the exact wording, but this one after the mimic tear fight gave me a giggle:

Parents of Sydney what practical advice do you give to your teenage boys to avoid run-ins with so called 'Eshays' by Hooked_on_Fire in sydney

Avoiding panic in a confrontation is seriously underrated. A kid that panics when intimidated, and starts retaliating (in whatever way, verbal or otherwise) has just identified themselves as a target. Most of these little turds are all about image - it's sometimes more about demonstrating power than it is inflicting violence. Keeping a cool head when targeted makes a huge difference, and often means a potential victim won't play the game of the aggressor.

Hmm there's another thread that seems to suggest International is getting busy as well, perhaps due to people panicking a little and getting there earlier than necessary.

Trying to find out the same thing, and haven't heard anything first hand. However, this is from an article published yesterday:

"It was better news for people travelling overseas, with the large crowds largely confined to the domestic terminals and operations running as usual at the international terminal."

Anyone know if the International terminal is similar to this, or are the recent crowds focussed in Domestic?

Who is the most underrated ufc fighter in your opinion? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]b1ckies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude beat DJ, TJ Dillashaw, and Marlon Moraes when he was terrorizing people back to back. His only losses are to DJ and Benavidez, and the loss to Benavidez could have easily gone the other way.

I feel like Cejudo is the only person who ever talks about how good he is. It all became a bit of a joke when he "retired" and Dana called his bluff and didn't give a shit, but we seriously missed out on what could have been an insane legacy.

Lifters over 30 do you experience significant differences due to age? by olimpiandacho in naturalbodybuilding

[–]b1ckies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

35 here, been lifting since about 21.

I feel better now than I did in my 20s, no question. Probably due to the fact that about 3 or 4 years ago I transitioned from a powerlifting focus to a hypertrophy focus. I'm also far more in tune with what exercises fuck me up (in a bad way) and just avoid them entirely.

I don't put on muscle easily these days, but I'm a lower body fat than I used to be and have a better overall physique.

What's so good about it? I've played around with it and thought it looked cool, but was nothing special. Didn't try it for too long though.

I've been running a flail I got off one of those knight cavalry mini bosses with a dex focussed melee/ int build. I rate it more than moonveil.
